If you’ve been waiting to bring theater-quality sound into your living room, this is your cue. The JBL Bar 1000 Soundbar is now $899.95, down from $1,199.95, a 25% discount on one of the best all-in-one sound systems for immersive home audio. Featuring Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and JBL’s signature MultiBeam technology, it delivers room-filling sound that pulls you right into your favorite movies, shows, and games.

With detachable wireless surround speakers and a powerful subwoofer, the Bar 1000 gives you the kind of multidimensional sound that most compact systems can only hint at.

What You’re Getting

The JBL Bar 1000 is a full-featured home theater system built for serious sound enthusiasts. Its 7.1.4-channel configuration combines front, side, and overhead audio channels to create a rich, layered experience. The detachable battery-powered rear speakers make it easy to enjoy true wireless surround sound without extra wires or wall mounts, while the 10-inch subwoofer adds deep, rumbling bass that you can feel.

With Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, the Bar 1000 renders sound that moves naturally in three dimensions, enhancing the sense of depth and realism in every scene. JBL’s MultiBeam technology further expands the soundstage, ensuring consistent clarity from any spot in the room. Connectivity options include HDMI eARC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, making it compatible with most TVs and smart devices.

Why It’s Worth It

The JBL Bar 1000 offers a truly cinematic experience without the complexity of traditional multi-speaker setups. It’s powerful enough to rival dedicated AV systems yet simple to set up and control. Few soundbars deliver such dynamic range, precision, and spatial accuracy in one sleek package.

At just under $900, it’s an excellent value for a system that combines wireless surround capabilities, premium audio processing, and elegant design. Competing Atmos systems from brands like Sony or Samsung often cost significantly more for similar performance, which makes this JBL deal even more appealing.

The Bottom Line

If you want theater-quality sound without the hassle, the JBL Bar 1000 is one of the best options available. With Dolby Atmos, detachable surround speakers, and 7.1.4-channel audio, it transforms your living room into a true entertainment hub. Available now for $899.95 (25% off) on Amazon.

Proton reveals how smart TVs track you and the escape situation is pretty grim
Modern smart TVs fingerprint your screen content at the chipset level.
Google TV applications on the Sony A95K TV.

Your smart TV may know far more about your viewing habits than you realize, even if you rarely use its smart features. In a new privacy explainer, Proton warns that many modern TVs quietly collect data about everything displayed on the screen and share it with manufacturers, advertisers, and analytics companies.

The worrying part is that escaping this tracking is becoming increasingly difficult because many privacy controls are buried deep in settings or enabled by default. Proton argues that buying a smart TV today often means accepting a level of surveillance that most people never knowingly signed up for.

LG is cracking down on smart TV apps that quietly turn your TV into a secret proxy
LG OLED Settings

If you own an LG smart TV, there's a chance one of your harmless-looking apps has been moonlighting as an internet relay for someone else's traffic. According to a report from KrebsOnSecurity, LG says it's finally stepping in to stop this menace. This week, the company confirmed it plans to suspend any webOS app that turns a TV into what's called a residential proxy node.

The move follows a report from security firm Spur, which found that more than 42 percent of apps on LG's webOS store include SDKs that quietly reroute internet traffic through your TV, indefinitely. Samsung isn't spared either, with over a quarter of Tizen apps carrying similar code.

The LG C6 OLED is great out of the box. These settings make it even better.
From Filmmaker Mode to shadow detail and AI Sound Pro, these are the settings that made the biggest difference after a month of testing the LG C6 OLED.
LG OLED Settings

The LG C6 OLED is one of the best mid-range OLED TVs you can buy right now. After spending the past month testing and using it every day, one thing became clear: straight out of the box, you're leaving picture quality on the table.

The good news is that getting more out of the TV doesn't require professional calibration or hours spent digging through menus. A handful of small adjustments can make movies look more cinematic, improve shadow detail, smooth out motion and even make the built-in speakers sound noticeably better. Here are the exact settings I've been using after living with the LG C6.
