Expiring Soon: These films will vanish from Netflix on New Year’s Day

Compiled by a group of Reddit users, Netflix will be removing a selection of 80+ films from Netflix Instant on January 1, 2014 which include popular titles such as As Good As It Gets, Braveheart, Being John Malkovich, Desperado, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Man on the Moon, October Sky, Titanic and Top Gun. This is somewhat typical of Netflix since movies and televisions shows are added and removed as licencing deals start and expire. However, this list of films is somewhat larger than other months, specifically because the licensing deal that covered these films expires at the end of 2013.

Of course, the removal of these films doesn’t mean that Netflix won’t add the movies and television shows back to the service in the future. Netflix could add any of them back into the lineup, assuming the films are popular enough within the Netflix community and cost effective as well. However, it’s likely that the lack of interest among the community was partly a contributing factor to remove the content from the streaming service.

In addition to the films, Netflix will also remove a collection of television shows from the service. However, Netflix will be adding 70+ titles to Netflix on January 1 which includes popular titles such as American Psycho, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Raging Bull, Spaceballs and Thelma & Louise. The expiring list can be found below:

TCL Prime Big Deal Days TV deals: TVs from $115
2024 TCL S5 4K TV.

Update 10/10/24: Most of the TCL deals that were active during the sale are still around. A few got even cheaper! We've updated all of the prices.

Prime Big Deal Days is over, so the amazing offers from Amazon (who is the originator of the event) and other retailers may soon disappear. But some seem to be sticking around for a while. The best Prime Big Deal Days deals are varied, covering everything from computers to furniture, but we also found good deals in niche categories to cover them by themselves. For example, we found enough to create an entire listing of Best Buy Big Deal Days TV deals in case you want to take advantage of your membership there, while we were also able to create an entire curated selection of Dell Big Deal Days deals if you like the brand. Here, we're giving TCL the same treatment. The following are quality deals on products from the already budget TV brand.

Best Buy’s Big Deal Days TV Sale: TVs from $190 still available
LG C4 OLED

Update 10/10/24: If you've missed out on buying a TV in the last couple of days, you'll be happy to know that there are still a lot of great deals that are worth grabbing. We've updated the list below with the latest deals and prices, so be sure to snag something ASAP!

Unfortunately, Amazon's Big Deal Days sales event is over, but that doesn't mean that there aren't still a lot of great TV deals that you can take advantage of. We're covering the entirety of Best Buy's Big Deal Days competitor sale elsewhere (we discuss their TVs, but also laptops and other gear) but here it is all about TVs. While you can also check out the best Big Deal Days TV deals, one exciting part of looking at TVs at Best Buy is that Best Buy Plus and Total members also get a $50 bonus when they spend $50 or more... all the way through October 20. That means that deals both before and after Amazon's event are going to be special at Best Buy.

Samsung’s Frame TV is over to $650 off for Prime Day — the lowest price of the year!
SAMSUNG 55-Inch Class Frame Series.

Samsung’s ultra-modern “The Frame” TV, which doubles as a piece of artwork when you’re not watching a show or movie, is down to its lowest price ever.

Right now, the 55-inch Samsung Frame QLED Smart TV is on sale for just $978 at Amazon, which saves you 41% off the regular price. Earlier this summer, the same model was priced at a much harder-to-justify $1,500 as part of Amazon's Prime Day sale — but now, at a $668 discount, it's hard to pass up for Amazon's Big Deal Days event.
