What’s new on Amazon Prime Video in April 2024

Amazon Prime Video

April has arrived on Amazon Prime Video, and Fallout is about to begin. Prime Video’s biggest addition this month is the series premiere of Fallout, which will adapt the post-apocalyptic world of the hit video games with a dark sense of humor. And in a departure from Prime Video’s most recent big releases, all eight episodes of Fallout will premiere on April 11.

Fortunately, that’s not all Prime Video has to offer in April. Fan-favorite TV shows like House and Eureka are arriving this month, as is last year’s horror revival, The Exorcist: Believer. Prime Video’s film library is also expanding with Chinatown, Fighting with My Family, Memoirs Of A Geisha, Out of Sight, The Big Short, The Notebook, The Station Agent, and more.

Below, you’ll find the complete list of what’s coming to Amazon Prime Video in April, with our recommendations in bold. And if you need a little more help deciding what to watch, we also have a list of the best movies streaming on Amazon, as well as a list of the best TV shows streaming on Amazon. If Amazon isn’t your only go-to streaming service, we also have helpful articles on the best movies on Netflix and the best shows on Netflix, as well as plenty of guides for Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max.

Like Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series? Then watch these 5 great movies right now
A woman looks out at an industrial landscape in Fallout.

Amazon Prime Video is wishing everyone a happy apocalypse this month as all eight episodes of Fallout season 1 hit the streaming servic e. But even if this show is a breakout hit that gets an immediate second season order, it could be two years or longer before new episodes arrive. So if you're looking for more postapocalyptic stories, then you've come to the right place.

However, the thing that you need to remember is that there's almost nothing else that shares the exact tone of Fallout, which can be really funny without slipping into farce. Regardless, some of our picks clearly inspired the Fallout games and the TV show. And you can see for yourself as we run down the five great movies that you need to see if you like Fallout.

Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks live stream: how to watch the NBA online
Jalen Brunson dribbles the ball for the New York Knicks.

The Chicago Bulls head to the "World's Most Famous Arena" to take on the New York Knicks on the final day of the regular season. The action begins at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on Sunday, April 14. The game will be played inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The Bulls have locked up the No. 9 seed in the Eastern Conference, meaning they will host their Play-In Tournament game against the No. 10 Atlanta Hawks. For Chicago to advance to the postseason, they must beat the Hawks and defeat the loser of No. 7 versus No. 8 matchup. For the Knicks, the team has clinched a top-six playoff spot. The Knicks can reach No. 2 if the Milwaukee Bucks lose two games. However, the likely outcome is that the Knicks finish as the No. 3 seed.

A man raises a wine glass in Hannibal.

Streaming services like Amazon Prime Video are always hypervigilant in their attempt to make sure that you're aware of what new shows are coming to their platform at any given time. They spend far less time, though, promoting all the things available on their service that they didn't put any money behind creating.

While Prime Video and other streaming services definitely make great shows, their libraries are filled with things that they didn't make that are often equally as great. Take Hannibal, for example. The series aired on NBC for three seasons, and is now available to stream on Prime Video. A sort of prequel to The Silence of the Lambs, the series is often both brilliant and stylish. Here are three reasons you should definitely check it out.
