The Sams’s Club deals are a good indicator of what we can expect from other big box stores, such as Costco and Wal-Mart, the latter of which is under the same umbrella as Sam’s Club. After all, the companies know that you can only camp out in front of one store once you’ve devoured your Thanksgiving dinner, and they all want to be that store. Sam’s is definitely making a good case — a 58-inch 4K TV with respectable specs for $700 is pretty insane.
The TV in question is Vizio’s D58u-D3 smart TV, which has some serious advantages over other LED 4K Ultra HD sets in its class, including a full-array backlit panel with 10 zones of local dimming, allowing it to better correct for contrast between light and dark areas on screen than run-of-the-mill LED panels. Naturally, the supply will be limited, but Sam’s guarantees that there will be at least 10 per store. It’s the usual baiting tactic: 10 lucky people will bring home the TV, while others who had hoped to buy it will instead leave the store with consolation purchase(s).
There are plenty of other tech deals waiting to tempt them, including a Samsung 65-inch curved 4K ultra HD smart TV for $1,478 for those willing to opt for a much higher price tag (and bigger TV). Other doorbusters include a Nikon DD3300 two-lens bundle for $500, NRG’s wireless speaker for $25, Roku’s Streaming Stick for $40, and much more. Consumers can get the deals through Sunday, Nov. 29, but only while supplies last. (Basically, you’re probably out of luck if you don’t camp out.)
Although Sam’s is closed on Thanksgiving Day, it opens on Friday at 12:01 a.m., so lines will definitely be forming on the actual holiday. For those who don’t want to spend their Thanksgiving waiting outside their local Sam’s, the retail chain will hold a pre-Black Friday sale on Nov. 21, the Saturday before Thanksgiving, as well as offering various online deals leading up to Christmas.
