As the autumn air settles in and the holiday season approaches, not only is it the perfect time to get your pumpkin spice latte fix, but there’s no better time to buy a pair of wireless headphones.

No, Black Friday and Cyber Monday haven’t arrived quite yet, but Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days is back, offering some of the steepest deals we’ve seen on wireless earbuds, noise-canceling headphones, TVs, and more.

After scouring hundreds of audio deals for countless hours, without a doubt, the best one the Digital Trends team has come across is for Sony’s stellar WH-1000XM5 noise-canceling headphones. They are 25% off this Prime Day, marking their lowest price to date. The premium headphones normally cost $399, and you can score them for a much easier-to-swallow $298. Reader, that’s over $250 cheaper than Apple’s newest AirPods Max headphones.

Why you should buy the Sony WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones

Whether you’re commuting to work, relaxing at home, or on a flight, Sony headphones can enhance your audio experience in any setting. They work wonders at tuning out office chatter and noisy pets and are the perfect headphones to further immerse yourself in your favorite films and TV shows.

Simon Cohen, Digital Trends’ Contributing Editor, A/V, gave the headphones a stellar review. Cohen says, “Yes, Sony charges a premium price for the WH-1000XM5, but you get a product that’s premium in every way, and for now, they’re the best wireless headphones you can buy.” You can also expect them to stand the test of time, making their under-$300 price tag all the more worth it. Cohen adds, “Sony builds excellent products, and the WH-1000XM5 look like they will stand up to some pretty heavy use. I recommend keeping them away from sweat and rain as they don’t have any kind of IPX rating. If you do so, I expect you’ll still be enjoying them many years from now. Sony also backs the WH-1000XM5 with a standard one-year warranty.”

What’s more, the WH-1000XM5 is just a nice set of headphones to live with. Synthetic leather ear pads feel luxurious but breathe better than authentic leather. Like the ear pads, the padding in the headband is plush and comfortable. The battery lasts up to 30 hours, and four beam-forming microphones dedicated to high-quality phone calls make the WH-1000XM5 an ideal work companion, too.

This Prime Day Deal is also TikTok-approved

TikTok thinks these headphones are totally worth the splurge, even at full price, making their 25% off price tag for Amazon’s sale event a no-brainer. Using a whopping eight microphones, the headphones block out high- and mid-frequency sounds while you commute or work in an open floor-plan office. Alternatively, you can add varying amounts of ambient sound into the headphones to keep yourself safe as you navigate a busy street. And a smart speak-to-chat mode automatically pauses your music and engages ambient sound mode when you begin talking, allowing you to have a brief conversation without taking off the headphones or pressing a button. (There are still buttons on the headphones for adjusting volume and audio playback or taking calls if that’s your thing.)

The bottom line is this: we’ve never seen a discount this low, and Sony’s headphones are renowned for their cloud-like comfort, advanced noise-canceling technology, and immersive listening experience. This headphone deal simply should not be missed.

Spotify’s new conversational AI can play tracks you request and answer your music questions
A ChatGPT-like AI feature is coming to Spotify for music requests and listening-history questions
spotify

Spotify is rolling out a new AI-powered conversational feature that lets Premium users talk directly to the app about what they want to hear. Users can type or speak a request and refine the results through follow-up questions instead of manually searching for a song, podcast, or audiobook.

The feature is available from Spotify’s Home and Now Playing screens and works much like a personal audio assistant. It can choose what plays, answer questions about the current track or album, recommend something new, and look through your listening history to provide more personalized responses.
