TCL Alto 8+ 2.1 soundbar with Fire TV
TCL

There are some amazing Black Friday soundbar deals out there this year, but when we saw this deal, we knew we had to bring it to your attention. Amazon has marked down the TCL Alto 8+ 2.1 soundbar with Fire TV to just $75 — a huge 62% saving off the regular price. That’s a fantastic price for an entry-level soundbar, but the Alto 8+ is far more than just a speaker.

What’s great about the Alto 8+ is that it’s part of a new breed of smart soundbar that incorporates a full streaming media platform — in this case, Amazon’s Fire TV. In other words, it’s a soundbar and a streamer in one device, just like the Roku Streambar.

With 120 watts of power, this 2-channel soundbar has a built-in subwoofer. Built-in subwoofers aren’t quite as furniture-shaking as their standalone cousins, but they can definitely provide far more low-end boom than soundbars without one. In the box, you’ll find everything you need to get going including a power cable, optical cable, HDMI cable, and even wall mounting hardware.

You get an endless number of options for both music and TV audio. With an HDMI ARC connection to your TV, you can use the Alto 8+ to stream your favorite services like Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video — in 4K HDR, including support for Dolby Vision. There are plenty of music apps on the Fire TV platform, but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, the Alto’s Bluetooth feature lets you wirelessly connect your phone, tablet, or PC so you can listen from these devices instead.

Dedicated sound modes for movies, music, and news means you can always emphasize the audio that matters most, whether it’s cinematic explosions or the voices and dialog.

As with all Fire TV products, you get a voice-enabled Fire TV remote control. You can use it to navigate all of the Fire TV media options on your TV, or you can simply press the microphone button and tell Alexa what you want. Alexa can launch streaming apps, tell you more about the cast and crew of your favorite show or movie, adjust the volume, and give you control over virtually every smart device in your home, from lighting to door locks.

If you’re looking to give your TV better sound quality, it doesn’t come any easier or cheaper than the Alto 8+ — especially during Black Friday deals.

More soundbar deals available now

If you’re loving the idea of getting a great deal on a soundbar for Black Friday, but the TCL Alto 8+ isn’t right for you, don’t worry, there are tons of other great deals on right now. But don’t delay — these deals are extremely time-limited.

Netflix just got a whole lot more irritating if you share a screen in a household
Every profile will soon need its own email address, adding another hurdle for households that share a TV.
Netflix on TV couple watching

Netflix's password-sharing crackdown isn't over just yet. The streaming giant is now rolling out another change that could make shared household accounts a little more cumbersome, this time by asking every profile on an account to have its own email address. While the move isn't designed to stop families from sharing a subscription, it does add another layer of identity verification that many users probably weren't asking for.

As Spotify embraces AI, Deezer will let you remix songs with artist consent and royalties
Deezer just made remix culture official, and AI doesn’t get the aux cord
Deezer app on an iPhone 15 Pro.

You've seen TikTok or Instagram reels of sped-up or slowed-down songs, and new mixes of popular titles that end up getting millions of views. But despite that virality, the original artist never ends up getting paid. Deezer is trying to change things with its new Remix Lab. It's a new in-app feature that lets fans remix songs with the explicit consent of artists and rights holders. The feature is launching first in France through Deezer Club, with the company saying it could expand to other countries in the coming months.
