Vidikron announces 4 new DLP projectors

The Vision Series Model 40/40ET and Model 20/20ET projectors deliver picture quality and professional features for home theater applications without breaking the budget.

The Vision Model 40 and Model 40ET use TI’s latest 16:9 native HD-2 DLP chip technology. The entry level Model 20 and Model 20ET also offer the latest 16:9 widescreen DLP technology and incorporateengineering innovations and a host of professional features not typically found in projectors in this price range.

The Model 40/40ET have a light output of 950 ANSI lumens and contrast ratios of 1600:1, while the Model 20/20ET delivers 850 ANSI lumens of light output and 1500:1 contrast ratios, for use with hometheaters with recommended screen requirements all the way up to 96 inches wide.

Internal video processing with 3:2 film detection circuitry and full HDTV compatibility (with outboard tuner/decoder or satellite receiver) ensure that all of these projectors are capable ofprojecting almost any video source. All of these models also include support for multiple aspect ratio control, including Vidikron’s IntelliWide mode, offering the ability to view standard videoformats in widescreen without loss of image quality. Advanced digital keystone correction and discrete IR or RS-232 control facilitate custom installations seamlessly, while discrete source andaspect ratio selection accommodate automation control systems.

The Vision Model 40 offers a variable throw distance of 1.38:1 to 1.63:1, while the Model 40ET provides a longer variable throw distance of 1.80:1 to 2.40:1. The Vision Model 20 offers a variablethrow distance of 1.71:1 to 2.06:1, while the Model 20ET provides a longer variable throw distance of 2.2:1 to 3.1:1. All of these models ship with professional grade lenses and feature a unique‘cat’s eye’ optical system that enhances contrast and optimizes black level performance. In addition, a 9-point white balance system accounts for gray scale tracking.

All models have an aesthetically pleasing small footprint exterior case design that blends into any room surrounding. The Model 40 sells for $8,999, Model 40ET for $9,995, Model 20 for $5,495 andModel 20ET for $6,495, available in July 2003.
