Best Prime Day Amazon Deals
This story is part of the Digital Trends Prime Day 2026 coverage
Updated less than 5 days ago

There’s no need to tackle every room at once. These four Amazon deals ahead of October Prime Day start at $56.99 and cover temperature control, older appliances, ambient lighting, and air purification. Pick the upgrade that would get used every day.

Amazon Smart Thermostat – $56.99 (29% off)

At $23 off, Amazon’s Smart Thermostat has the biggest percentage discount of these four picks. It’s where I’d start in an Alexa household, assuming the wiring checks out. Scheduling temperature changes doesn’t require a three-figure thermostat, but installation can add to the bill: this package doesn’t include the compatible adapter that homes without a C-wire may need.

Key spec/featureDetails
HVAC compatibilityCompatible 24V HVAC systems; check Amazon’s compatibility tool before purchase. Not compatible with 110–240V systems.
Power requirementC-wire or compatible C-wire adapter
Smart controlsAlexa app, schedules, and Alexa voice control through a compatible device
Included configurationThermostat only; C-wire adapter not included

SwitchBot Hub 2 – $59.99 (14% off)

An older air conditioner or TV doesn’t need replacing just to gain phone controls. SwitchBot’s Hub 2 learns compatible infrared remotes and brings those appliances into supported automations. Check compatibility with the equipment already in the room before buying. The $10 discount is modest, but connecting something that still works is a more appealing proposition than shopping for its replacement.

Key spec/featureDetails
Appliance controlInfrared remote learning for compatible devices
SensorsTemperature, humidity, and ambient light
Connectivity2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Matter supportBridges supported SwitchBot devices and infrared controls
Physical controlsTwo customizable touch buttons for scenes

Govee Floor Lamp 2 – $135.99 (15% off)

For a living room that feels harsh under the ceiling lights, Govee’s Floor Lamp 2 offers a softer evening setup. It casts adjustable white or multicolor light onto nearby walls, while the illuminated base adds another pool of color. Matter support helps it fit into an existing smart home, and the color effects give it a place beside a gaming desk, too.

Key spec/featureDetails
BrightnessUp to 1,725 lumens
LightingRGBICWW color effects and adjustable white light
White color temperature2,200K–6,500K
Smart-home supportMatter, Alexa, and Google Assistant
Connectivity2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Levoit Vital 200S-P smart air purifier – $167.95 (12% off)

The less time spent adjusting an air purifier, the better. Levoit’s Auto Mode changes fan speed in response to detected air quality, so there’s less reason to reach for the controls. In homes with pets, the washable pre-filter catches larger debris before it reaches the main filter. That doesn’t eliminate upkeep: the pre-filter needs cleaning, and replacement filters cost extra.

Key spec/featureDetails
Clean air delivery rate250 CFM
Room-size guidanceManufacturer rates 388 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour
FiltrationWashable pre-filter, particle filtration, and activated carbon

Apple’s new smart home gear looks great. But that Apple tax is heartbreaking
Apple's smart home is a very expensive place to live
Apple Home Collection cameras, doorbell, smart lock, and thermostats launched at Apple Welcome Home event

Apple is finally taking the smart home segment more seriously with its latest Home Collection. The company now has a compelling lineup of cameras, doorbells, locks, and thermostats that look right at home alongside its other products (HomeView and HomePod mini 2). While not everyone is a fan of the minimalist designs (often calling them too clinical), I do appreciate the clean aesthetics.

Of course, one of the key selling points is the integration, which looks incredibly polished, and there's plenty to appreciate about Apple's privacy-first approach. But Apple being Apple is making sure you pay every penny for it. Developed alongside LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, Apple's new accessories start at $199.95 for an indoor camera and climb to $399.95 for a floodlight camera. Add an outdoor camera, video doorbell, smart lock, and thermostat to the mix, and you're already approaching $1,300 for five basic smart home devices.
