Amazon Echo Pop — $18, was $40

Digital Trends

Available in Charcoal, Glacier White, Lavender Bloom, and Midnight Teal, the Echo Pop is Amazon’s most budget-friendly smart speaker. Small enough to fit in just about any room, this bite-sized companion is perfect for bedside tables and kitchen countertops. With Alexa at the helm, you’ll be able to stream music, control smart home devices, ask questions, check on Amazon deliveries, and more.

Do keep in mind that the Echo Pop isn’t going to deliver the kind of pulse-pounding audio you’ll hear from higher-priced Amazon speakers or from the tweeter and woofers you’ll find on these best Bluetooth speaker deals.

Amazon

Want bigger, room-filling sound from an Amazon smart speaker? That’s where the Echo Dot (5th Gen, 2022) comes into play. Thanks to its powerful front-firing speaker, the Dot delivers the decibels with improved treble and bass. You’ll also be able to use the Echo Dot for motion and temperature detection. When triggered, Alexa will ping your devices with an alert to let you know something is amiss.

This version of the Dot (along with the Echo Pop) can even be used as an Eero Wi-Fi repeater (other Eero hardware required). And as for colors, the fifth-gen Dot is available in Charcoal, Deep Blue Sea, and Glacier White.

Amazon Echo Spot — $45, was $80

Amazon

The Echo Spot is a great way to start your day, end your day, or soothe you to sleep for an afternoon nap. Equipped with the same 1.73-inch front-firing speaker as the Echo Dot (5th Gen), the Spot also has a 2.83-inch screen (320 x 240 resolution) that displays time, weather, song titles, and other Alexa-powered visuals.

Use it as your everyday alarm clock that recites news headlines when you wake up, or ask Alexa to lower the temperature. These automations and more are made possible by Alexa Routines, which are simple to make in the Alexa app.

Amazon Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen, 2023) — $50, was $90

How about an Alexa-powered smart display? The latest edition of the Echo Show 5 features a refined 5.5-inch touchscreen that displays everything from local weather to news headlines, daily reminders, and even your favorite Amazon Prime Video shows and movies. You’ll also be able to stream music from services like Amazon Music and Spotify.

What else can you use the screen for? Family photos, for one, as well as smart home controls. Certain devices (like smart lights and smart thermostats) can be raised or lowered via touchscreen, and the built-in camera allows you to take video calls.

Lutron just made it easier to control your smart home without touching your phone
Smart home voice control usually means buying yet another speaker or hub. Lutron and Sonos found a simpler fix: use the speaker you probably already own.
Electronics, Speaker, Text

If you’ve lost count of how many remotes and apps you juggle between just to dim a light or skip a song, I have something for you. Lutron just gave its Caseta smart home lineup a new shortcut, letting you control lights, shades, and Sonos playback with your voice alone.

For anyone who is catching up, Caseta is Lutron's do-it-yourself smart lighting system. It’s built around a small hub that basically talks to switches, dimmers, and plugs over a radio signal (instead of Wi-Fi), making it easier to manage the entire setup. While the company has worked alongside Sonos for a while, voice control was the one piece still missing from that partnership. That changes now.

The best smart home gym equipment
Find the connected fitness equipment that's worth your money.
Woman boxing with FightCamp.

The average workout doesn't begin with your first rep anymore. It begins with the data you've already collected. Smartwatches track your sleep and heart rate, smart rings measure recovery, and some fitness enthusiasts even use continuous glucose monitors to better understand how their bodies respond to training and nutrition. Smart home gym equipment builds on that foundation, combining connected hardware with AI-powered coaching, adaptive resistance, and long-term progress tracking to turn health insights into smarter workouts.

Smart fitness has also grown well beyond streaming workout classes. The latest machines can automatically adjust resistance as you get stronger, analyze your performance over time, and sync with the health devices you already use. Some even use AI to recommend workouts based on your goals and training history, making every session feel more personalized. If you're still deciding whether investing in connected fitness makes sense for your lifestyle, check out our guide on whether a smart home gym is worth it.

Tineco Pure ONE Station 5 Pro review: A reliable kit that’s low on maintenace, high on conveniences
An easy recommendation for anyone who wants a cordless vacuum that is genuinely easy to live with.
Tineco Pure One Station 5 Pro vacuum cleaner

See at tineco

With two young children and two dogs, my floors put vacuums through a real-world stress test every day. Between constant crumbs, pet hair, tracked-in dirt, and everything in between, there’s always something waiting to be cleaned. The Tineco Pure ONE Station 5 Pro solved those those pain points for me pretty well. It can run for over an hour and a half on a single charge, while its base station dustbin capacity outpaces many standard upright vacuums that I've tested over the years.
