The last thing anyone thinks to pack with them before a travel aboard are random essentials you never imagine you need. These items include extra shirt buttons, forks and spoons, bottle openers, and more. They’re the kind of things you think you can get once you’re out and about, but sometimes it’s just better to supply your own especially if you’re in a foreign place.
With this credit card size laser cut card full of random tools, industrial designer Atelier Steffen Kehrle wants to make you prepared for any adventure (and misadventure) while carrying a portable, washable, and disposable set. The kit contains forks, knives, buttons, and other accessories laser cut onto a stainless steel plate. When they come in handy, all you have to do is pop them out of the card and enjoy a box of fries without getting your hands dirty.
More spiritual of a person? The designer also included a card with a cross for your religious beliefs and a heart to share your compassion for strangers. The cards come in different colors and sizes so you can enjoy urban adventures big and small. Sadly, we can’t seem to find it on sale and only through the artist’s official site. It’s still a cool idea and great for food trucks to distribute rather than wasting plastic utensils. The reusability and stylish look may also encourage people to hang on to these tools and have a truly portable way to bring sturdy materials with them wherever they go, all while recycling material and keeping it green.
