BottleLoft, as it’s called, isn’t really all that complicated. It’s just a clever little strip that’s outfitted with a strong adhesive on one side, and a row of powerful neodymium magnets on the other. Once attached to the underside of a shelf, the beefy magnets on the bottom allow you to hang beers from them, rather than stacking them on the shelf below.
Sure, if you’ve got a fridge with removable shelving, something like this probably isn’t necessary, but if your shelves are static and you’ve got a lot of extra airspace above your refrigerated foodstuffs, a contraption like this might be just what you need.
BottleLoft only exists in prototype form at this point, but the design is pretty much finalized, so creator Brian Conti has turned to Kickstarter to raise the necessary funds for volume production. At time of writing, he’s roughly halfway to reaching is $20K goal, and still has the better part of a month left in the campaign. If you back the project while it’s still in the early stages, BottleLoft strips are currently going for about 20 bucks a pop. Assuming manufacturing goes as planned, Conti hopes to ship the first units to backers as early as January 2015.
