Get Ready for the Gold Rush

AOL and reality show producer Mark Burnett are teaming with CBS to develop a new online reality show set to debut this fall. Titled Gold Rush, the online treasure hunt will let searchers find over $2 million in gold using clues found in CBS fall premieres and commercials.

In Gold Rush, said the media outfits, thirteen armored trucks laden with gold disperse across the United States to hide their caches. Twelve of these trucks contain $100,000 in solid gold and the thirteenth, $1 million dollars in solid gold. Each week during the national treasure hunt new clues will be found within CBS television programs, sponsor commercials, the AOL.com web site and other media properties. Gold Rush, unlike other reality show games which have a limited number of participants, will be open to the public in large, resulting in what could be millions of potential players.

“The combination of the reach of AOL.com, our next-generation free broadband portal, with CBS, the # 1 TV network, and the talent of Mark Burnett will make Gold Rush a landmark interactive event not to be missed,” says Kevin Conroy, Executive Vice President, AOL, in a statement.

Ring Doorbell mounted outside a front door.

Take a walk through any neighborhood, and you're bound to see a few Ring video doorbells installed next to front doors. The brand is increasingly popular, thanks to an ever-growing product lineup that makes it easy to find a device for all budgets and security needs. But one of the peskier features of Ring is the need for a Ring Protect Plan -- a monthly subscription service that unlocks the majority of the camera's most useful features.

One such feature locked behind a Ring Protect Plan membership is the ability to save Ring doorbell videos. Without a plan, you'll really only be allowed to view a live feed of your video doorbell. The plans are pretty generous, with the Basic plan costing $5 per month and offering video history for up to 180 days, making it a worthwhile investment for homes worried about their security.
