Luft Duo is a miniature-sized air purifier that doesn’t use filter replacements

Many people have air purifiers in their homes, but what about in their cars? The Luft Duo makes that possible. It is the world’s first portable, filterless air purifier — and it’s making its debut at CES 2021. This means users will not have to purchase expensive filter replacements, but can instead rely on the Luft Duo’s UV LED and photocatalytic technology to take dust, pollen, mold, and other pathogens out of the air. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, more people than ever before are looking for ways to keep their air clean.

The Luft Duo is unique in that while it doesn’t need multiple filters, it uses an easily-removable, washable filter. Just give it a gentle wash and let it dry before re-inserting it into the purifier. The filter traps larger particles, while the patented photocatalytic technology makes it possible for the Luft Duo to decompose particles that would pass through traditional HEPA filters — particles like formaldehyde and other VOCs, mold, and even pathogens. This technology is able to decompose molecules as small as 0.0001 millimeters.

The Luft Duo is an environmentally friendly device in more ways than one. Thanks to the reusable filter, users will not be adding excess waste to landfills in the form of non-biodegradable filters. The air purifier also does not produce ozone as it purifies the air. On the sound front, the LUFT Duo is almost silent, reducing the overall level of noise pollution in the home thanks to a running sound level of only 19 decibels.

The device is small enough to carry with you, whether you are on the road or going to a coffee shop. It is rated for spaces up to 240 square feet, so it’s best suited for smaller areas like a bedroom. LUFTQI, the parent company behind the Luft Duo, claims that the coronavirus can only survive in the air for one hour when the LUFT Duo is running versus its normal 21-hour airborne lifespan.

The Luft Duo is already in production and has sold thousands of units in Asia, but CES 2021 will be its worldwide debut. The device can be purchased through its IndieGoGo page for $149 and includes the Luft Duo itself, a power cable, vent cap to control airflow, and a cup holder that allows it to fit securely within your vehicle. With CES 2021 getting closer, there’s certainly going to be a lot to expect from it.

Molekule adds an Air Score to its Air Pro purifier
molekule enables air score pro

Molekule, one of the leading manufacturers of air purifers, has announced a new feature for its Air Pro purifiers. This new feature, called the Molekule Air Score, provides an easy-to-understand air quality score that shows users the levels of particles and chemicals in the surrounding air.

Molekule states that the score is combined with one of their new sensors in the Air Pro purifiers. That sensor can capture nearby VOCs (volatile organic compounds like aerosol sprays or preservatives), humidity, and CO2 levels. Then, the sensor uses the data from the air to improve the device's 'Auto Protect' mode, which is what the Air Pro uses to adjust fan speeds automatically.

PuriCare AeroTower

The company aims to not only improve your air quality, but also your comfort with the LG PuriCare AeroTower. Not your ordinary air purifier, the PuriCare AeroTower is also a fan and a heater. The model supports three airflow modes (with 10 levels of intensity each): Wide, Diffusion, and Ddirect. Depending on the model, you can add heat (up to 86 degrees Fahrenheit) to any airflow mode. The unit uses multistage True HEPA filters to effectively capture most particles floating around a room. It also uses ultraviolet-C light to help combat bacteria. For those who want to check on the air quality, they can look on the device or check out the LG ThinQ app on their phone.
