Never spill your wine again with the Pointer wine glass and its metal stake

There’s never a situation in which we don’t want wine, right? So there should never be a situation in which we can’t have it. Whether you’re sitting on a windy beach or picnicking in a park, now you can have your wine and drink it, too, thanks to a beautifully designed wine glass that will always stand its ground. Meet the Pointer, the brainchild of Ramona Enache. It’s a product that mixes elegance with practicality, bringing together a wine glass with a metal stake that lets you pin your drink to the forest floor or the sandy dunes.

First introduced as a Kickstarter project in 2015, Enache successfully raised more than $17,000 from 170 backers to bring the wine glass to life. An ideal tool for wine lovers everywhere, you get two Pointers in every order, which come packed together in an easy-to-carry box. The cleverly crafted packaging opens at both ends, making each wine glass immediately accessible. Once you’ve removed them from their safe carrying space, simply stick them in the ground, fill them up, and get to drinking.

The entire glass measures 270mm in length, with a stake comprised of 130 mm of pure stainless steel. The glass itself is 1 mm thick, and the whole contraption weighs in at 100 grams. All parts of the Pointer are crafted in Romania, so you can rest assured that you’re getting a piece of artisanal stemware.

But despite the success of the glass, designer Enache is still perfecting Pointer’s minutia. The metal pins that make the Pointer so unique have been carefully redesigned, cleaned, and polished for each product, and all the glasses are hand blown for that extra unique touch. Even the packaging materials have been carefully thought out to account for “cardboard thickness, inner reinforcements, lids, and dimensions,” because nothing would be worse than receiving a pair of broken glasses, right?

You can order a set of these Pointers yourself by checking out Enache’s website here.
