It’s an appropriate food choice for any occasion, so of course, it should be an appropriate text choice as well. And now, after months of teasing, the bacon emoji may finally be on its way. The Unicode Consortium, the body in charge of determining which little images make their way onto our phones (yes, that’s a real job for real people), has officially approved 74 new emojis as candidates for a mid-2016 release. Don’t get too excited — not all 74 emojis in question are guaranteed a coveted spot on your touchscreen keyboard — but at the very least, they’re in contention. The new emoji rollout would be part of iOS 10 when it finally hits the market, which is expected to be sometime in September.

The emoji, which has become an incredibly popular form of communication since it was first introduced to keyboards around five years ago, was recently named the world’s fastest-growing language, because apparently pictures really are worth a thousand words. And as the popularity of the emoji has grown, so too has the arsenal of available images.

While bacon may be the most anticipated of the bunch, the face palm, water polo, and a cucumber are also on the roster. There’s also the visual representation of ROFL (rolling on the floor laughing), as well as both second and third place medals (because participation is just as important as winning, guys).

There’s plenty of food on the list too (not just bacon, surprisingly), including the carrot, avocado, stuffed flatbread, shrimp, squid, and croissant — all the major food groups, obviously. Soon, you’ll actually be able to replace every word in the dictionary with an emoji.

You can check out the full list below, and thank the Consortium for elevating your level of texting. Because how did we ever communicate before without an icon of clinking glasses?
