Groupon makes it easier for merchants track coupons, gain analytics

groupon merchant app

“The Merchant App makes it dead simple for merchants to track their Groupons, which is especially helpful for businesses that have sold thousands of Groupons or span multiple locations,” said Andrew Mason, founder and chief executive officer of Groupon. “We’ve worked closely with our merchants, and their feedback has shaped a robust arsenal of services that we’re excited to roll out.”

The app greatly simplifies Groupon processing by enabling staff to redeem Groupon with an Android phone, iPod Touch and iPhone. Purchase data is then immediately transmitted to the existing merchant interface on, allowing business owners to track redemption and customer check amount in real time. For small businesses that are dealing with 1000’s of coupon redemptions, this app is a lifesaver.

In coming months, Groupon will ship Android phones and iPod Touches with the app preloaded to thousands of businesses as part of their featured promotion on the popular site.

“The Merchant App has been a powerful tool to make the overall redemption process smarter,” said Paul Kavouksorian of Paul K restaurant in San Francisco, which has been testing the iPhone app for several weeks. “My staff loves it. It’s simple to use and eliminates errors in processing vouchers that have been redeemed. We’d definitely recommend this app to other Groupon clients.”

Groupon is also working on rolling out a merchant analytics dashboard and other communications tools to help businesses stay in touch with their new Groupon customers.

Groupon has experienced explosive growth over the past two years and has keenly cashed in on bringing deals to the web in a new and innovative way.

I found a phone that fixes the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s biggest flaw
Vivo X90 Pro back.

The comfort of holding a smartphone is underrated, especially when you consider that most of us hold our phones for at least a quarter of the day. And, unfortunately, it seems like the comfortable form factor of a big phone is the least thought-out feature.

Take any flagship phone with a 6.5-inch+ screen size, for instance. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, Galaxy S23 Ultra, or Xiaomi 13 Pro all have one thing in common: they feature top-notch cameras but aren’t very comfortable to hold, either due to the poor flat edge design or weight distribution. Thankfully, one new smartphone — the Vivo X90 Pro — solves this problem.

How to add the iPhone’s Dynamic Island to your Android phone
The DynamicSpot Dynamic Island at the top of the Pixel 7 Pro.

The iPhone 14 Pro's launch brought a number of changes and additions to Apple's smartphone range and one of the coolest is the Dynamic Island — a section of the screen around the selfie camera's hole-punch cutout that expands and changes to deliver notifications, show music tracks playing, and even show you how far away your Uber is.

It's a versatile feature with a lot of potential, even if that potential hasn't been met yet, and it's only available on the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Your phone may make a loud sound today — here’s why

Those living or vacationing in the United Kingdom should be ready for a nationwide cell phone alert that's going to happen today and will cause your phone to make a loud noise. The alert, scheduled for Sunday, April 23, is a simple test for the government's emergency alert system, so there's no reason to be alarmed. However, make sure you're ready for it. Otherwise, it might catch you off guard.

Nationwide alarms aren't a new thing; we've seen them used over the years, broadcast across TV and radio stations. But as the world has started relying on smartphones more, emergency alarms have needed to catch up with the technology of the time, hence today's test, which will coincide with some big nationwide events including the London Marathon 2023 and Premier League soccer.
