Inbox by Gmail’s quick answer cards give you results faster

Finding information in emails can be a bit of a hassle as it can take a little work to go through the clutter of unrelated emails that crop up in the search. Addressing this issue is Inbox by Gmail, Google’s spin-off simplified email client, which just got an update that makes it easy to access information you need quickly.

When you search in Inbox for information, such as “frequent flyer” or “Chromecast order,” the app will now show you the relevant number you need at the top, along with the option to view the full email. It’s a really aesthetically-pleasing card that most likely offers exactly what you’re looking for after a quick search, and is similar to what would pop up after a search in the Google app.

The neat new feature works when searching for addresses, membership numbers, flight numbers, events, phone numbers, bills, and more.

Underneath the quick card search results, you’ll also find a “Top Results” section that “orders emails by relevance.” And below that you’ll be able to see your emails ordered by date, but Google thinks you likely won’t have to go that far to find what you’re looking for.

For example, after searching for “Barcelona,” the app provided the flight number, as well as departure and arrival dates and times in the form of a compact, colorful card. Below that were top results that included the flight email, along with a few other unrelated items, and the bottom was rounded out with emails ordered by date relating to “Barcelona.”

Inbox’s search feature was pretty good before, so it’s nice to see the search giant working proactively to continuously improve it. The update is rolling out today to the Web and app versions, but it’s unclear if this is server-side, or if you will have to wait for an update in the App Store or the Google Play Store.

Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 vs Galaxy Z Flip 6: vast chasms between the two
Galaxy Z Flip 6 vs Moto Razr Ultra 2025 cover displays

Samsung is widely regarded as having kick-started the folding phone industry, and the original Galaxy Z Flip proved that folding phones have two widely accepted form factors: book-style and clamshell. Shortly after, Motorola made its long-awaited comeback with a revamp of the iconic Razr V3.

Fast forward a few years, and the flip phone industry looks very different. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 follows the same mold as its predecessors, but unlike the rest of Samsung’s smartphone lineup, it is not the market leader. That falls to Motorola, which just unveiled three new flip phones to challenge the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The Google Pixel Tablet is way more enticing when this deal is applied
Someone holding the Google Pixel Tablet outside. Its screen is turned on.

The Google Pixel Tablet has had a rough go of it. In the past half year we learned of a Google Pixel Tablet 2 that seems to have died in conception, which could very well mean that the original Pixel Tablet will be the last of its kind, at least until a revamp of the line inevitably comes out.

Even the original seemed too confusing at its high original price. But now the price for the tablet alone is $399 and, after a $100 discount, the tablet is down to just $299. Though obvious from a mathematical standpoint, there's a lot psychologically going on when you drop the price from $399 to $299. This is one of those tablet deals that gives a product an entirely new perspective — and others, too, as stock is already limited on Amazon. So, that's what we need to ask, is the Pixel Tablet worth buying now that it is heavily discounted?
