LG’s flagship phone, the Optimus 4X HD, is beginning its launch across Europe, finally putting LG in competition with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. Like those phones, the 4X HD has a quad-core processor (again, in Europe) and runs Android 4.0, the latest and greatest OS from Google.

Though LG says that the Optimus 4X HD is “available for purchase in Europe,” from the fine print, it looks like only those in Germany can pick up the phone today. It will supposedly launch in the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK, and Italy in the next week or so, and the rest of Europe should get it in the “weeks and months ahead.” LG also plans to release the phone in Asia, Russia (and neighboring countries), South America, and Central America in the next few months as well, though no firm countries or release dates have been given. The US has also been completely left out. We imagine that LG will rebrand the phone, as it has previous Optimus phones, to please one of the major carriers here in the United States. That is, of course, if the phone makes it to US shores at all.

LG has packed in all the features you’d expect of a 2012 high-end Android phone. It runs on Nvidia’s fancy Tegra 3 processor and has a big 4.7-inch screen with a 720p resolution. And like its competitors, though LG has loaded the phone with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), it has significantly altered the user interface, calling its new creation the Optimus UI 3.0, which has changed a bit since we tried out the Optimus 4X HD at Mobile World Congress in February. The new UI has features like “Time Catch Shot,” which takes pictures before you press the shutter button at all and lets you choose between them after you snap a photo. LG is also bragging that its 2150mAh battery is ever-so-slightly larger than the competition, though a bigger battery doesn’t always mean longer battery life.

Exact pricing and carrier availability will likely vary by country and region, but expect to pay up if you want an Optimus 4X HD anytime soon.

Someone holding the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus.

If you're looking for a top-tier tablet, complete with a stylus pen, then you know you might have to pay big. But that's not really the case if you're getting a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ and S-Pen with this deal. Usually the 256GB Wi-Fi-enabled machine would cost $1,000, but you can get yours today for just $700. That's a savings of $300 if you act now. Tap the button below to get one of the best tablets at a much more affordable price than usual, or keep reading to see why this tablet might be worthy of your tech repertoire.

Why you should buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ has a large 12.4 inch screen, a QHD (2800 x 1752 pixel) resolution for crispy handheld viewing, and 12GB of RAM that make it more powerful at multitasking than many of the best budget laptops. This version comes with 256GB of on board memory too, which Best Buy classifies as "Medium," but if you browse around enough you'll see enough 64GB and 128GB devices to know that it's closer to "Medium-High" for a tablet (if Best Buy had such a category).

5 phones you should consider instead of the Google Pixel 9a
Person holds Pixel 9a in hand while sitting in a car.

The year has only really just begun, but we've already had some great phones launch in 2025. Samsung wowed us as usual with the new Galaxy S25 series, but then Apple came out of nowhere to release a brand new model in its lineup, the iPhone 16e. And the hits just keep on coming too; Google has just revealed the Google Pixel 9a, the latest in its line of excellent mid-range priced smartphones. The Pixel 9a continues Google's record of excellence within the midrange space, with a 1080p 6.3-inch display, 120Hz refresh rate, the usual showstopping cameras, and a brand new and stunning look, for just $499.
That's an incredible deal, and no mistake — but it's not the only game in town, not by a long shot. While the Google Pixel 9a is the new hotness, there are plenty of other smartphones that can, and should, steal your attention away from Google's latest. Here are five of the phones you should also consider if you're tempted by the Google Pixel 9a.

Apple Watch SE 3’s future appears uncertain with a looming price hike
Apple Watch SE with Nomad Aluminum Band

Apple last updated its affordable “SE” series smartwatch back in 2022. Priced at $250, the smartwatch offered a decent mix of wellness capabilities, clean design, and long battery life. But in time that has elapsed since, rivals like Samsung, OnePlus, and Mobvoi have offered fantastic value-centric models of their own.
Apple, on the other hand, hasn’t said a word on the next Watch SE trim. It seems the third-generation Apple Watch SE might take a while to arrive, and the delay may not be strategic. As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the affordable model might be in “serious jeopardy” due to hardware-related snags.
“The design team doesn’t like the look, and the operations team is finding it difficult to make the casing materially cheaper than the current aluminum chassis,” says the report. The outlet recently reported that Apple was experimenting with other materials in order to bring the manufacturing costs down.
