MOTOBLUR is coming to Verizon! Oh, right—and it’s on the Devour handset from Motorola, which is also going to be debuting on Verizon. Verizon Wireless and Motorola announced today that the Devour smartphone will be available from Verizon starting next month. This new Android phone is boasting some sweet—but fairly typical these days—features like a touch-sensitive optical directional pad, 3.1 inch capacitive touch screen display at HVGA resolution, aGPS support with device location and remote wipe support, pre-installed 8GB microSDHC card and Bluetooth with stereo audio support. Unfortunately, no word on multitouch capabilities yet–but we’re hoping the Nexus One update will follow onto other Android-powered handsets.

Pricing for the Devour has not yet been disclosed—updates to follow.

Google Pixel 6 can now tap into Verizon’s faster C-Band 5G
Google Pixel 6 in its green color option.

Verizon has finally flicked the switch that allows the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro to latch on to its C-Band 5G network. In January this year, Verizon and AT&T began the deployment of their respective 5G networks on the C-Band spectrum. However, the Pixel 6 series phones haven’t yet been able to take advantage of the faster C-Band 5G airwaves.

That’s because both the phones come equipped with the necessary networking hardware to support the C-Band spectrum, but they hadn’t received an official certification yet. Verizon’s George Koroneos has now shared on Twitter that both the phones have passed the certification hurdle. And starting today, the carrier has started rolling out a firmware update for the Pixel 6 duo that enables C-Band 5G support on Google’s flagships.
Faster and more feature-rich
The software update (version SP2A.220305.013.A3) arrives with the delayed March security patch for the Pixel 6 series phones in tow. The update also brings some new Pixel features to the Pixel 6 pair such as Night Sight in the Snap camera, Live Relay for captioning calls in real time, and a battery information widget, among others. For more details, check out the complete changelog for Pixel 6's March feature drop. Keep in mind that the C-Band 5G network will only be available to customers on an Unlimited plan with 5G Ultra Wideband in the list of perks.

Motorola Edge Plus (2022) hands-on review: Far from perfect
Motorola Edge Plus 2022 on a background with multiple shades of blue.

The Motorola Edge Plus (2022) is the company's latest smartphone that aims to counter the likes of Google Pixel 6 and the Galaxy S22 with flagship specs and a price to match. The Edge Plus (2022) is fitted with vanguard hardware inside, but has a rather bland external appearance that hasn't been updated much since the Motorola Edge (2021). Upgrades include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the latest and arguably most advanced chipset for Android phones, a 144Hz OLED display, dual 50MP cameras on the back, a 60MP camera for selfies, and support for wireless charging.

With these new flagship-level features, the Motorola Edge Plus (2022) finally feels primed to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S22. Motorola also makes some compromises that I will pinpoint in this article. Here are my observations after spending a few hours with Motorola's first flagship smartphone of 2022.

If you’ve been struggling with getting proper Wi-Fi connectivity on your new Pixel 6, you’re not alone, but the good news is that Google knows about the problem and says a fix should be coming next month.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been hearing sporadic reports from Pixel 6 owners dealing with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues. These became more prevalent after installing this month’s security patch, although some folks were experiencing more minor networking issues even before that.
