OnePlus 10 Pro, Oppo Find X4, Realme GT 2 Pro get 125-watt fast charging

When Oppo first unveiled 125-watt fast charging tech in 2020, it said that a phone with 4,000mAh of battery could be charged to full within 20 minutes. The company also said that when you didn’t have time to top up to 100%, the tech would allow you to plug in your phone for five minutes and charge it to 41%. This sounded too good to be true, but according to a new leak, all of this could soon be a reality on high-end devices coming out next year.

According to tipster Mukul Sharma (via Twitter), the Realme GT 2 Pro, Oppo Find X4 series, OnePlus 10 Pro, Oppo N series phone, and the Reno 8 Pro will feature 125W fast charging support. All of these devices are likely to be powered by the next-gen Qualcomm flagship system on a chip — the Snapdragon 898, which is all set to be unveiled in the coming weeks.

The alleged OnePlus 10 Pro renders have also leaked online. They suggest a Galaxy S21 Ultra-like camera bump that seems to extend from the phone’s metal frame. The Realme GT 2 Pro’s specifications have also been tipped with it featuring a 6.51-inch S-AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate and a punch-hole camera. It could have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while the cameras might include a 108MP primary sensor.

Meanwhile, Realme has already announced support for 125W fast charging on its ultra-premium flagship, while more high-end devices from BBK electronics could have support for the same.

All of the aforementioned devices are likely to be launched in the first half of 2022, and we’re sure to see more leaks about them soon.

The OnePlus 10T follows the same unified design language as the OnePlus 10 Pro. This means the camera module unifies with the edge of the smartphone -- much like the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It comes with a unibody rear glass cover made with "industry-leading technology," at least according to OnePlus.

We've seen just how fast 80W can fully juice a device when plugged into a wall outlet, so being able to take those sorts of charging speeds with you on things like road trips or quick errands will be a major convenience. The unfortunate thing about the new OnePlus SuperVOOC car charger, however, is that it won't support all devices.

The charger features two USB ports: one USB-A that supports 80W charging speeds and one USB-C that supports 30W speeds with Power Delivery (PD) standard. If you're looking to make use of the 80W charging speeds from the USB-A port, you'll need to be using a OnePlus phone like the 10T or 10 Pro. Otherwise, you'll need to stick to the 30W charging of the USB-C port. Admittedly, 30W charging is still pretty solid, especially for a car charger, but the fact that only OnePlus devices support 80W charging is a bit disappointing.

OnePlus is ready to put its latest budget flagship - the OnePlus 10T – on the shelves in the U. S. and elsewhere. For an asking price of $650, you get some impressive tricks such as support for 125W charging, the fastest chip on Qualcomm’s menu, and a 120Hz OLED display (among other things). From the looks of it, the OnePlus 10T seems like a true return to form for the brand. I think it's a compelling retelling of OnePlus's flagship killer journey in the industry. Especially compared to the 10 Pro from earlier this year.

The quest for making an all-out Android flagship ballooned the price tag past the budget of OnePlus’ most loyal audience. The OnePlus 10 Pro grabbed the spotlight with its Hasselblad cameras and striking design, but its starting price of $899 was tough to swallow. With the OnePlus 10T, a few corners have been cut (read: no wireless charging, no alert slider, and less serious camera hardware), but the $650 asking price is too tempting to miss out on this phone. But only if the OnePlus 10 Pro did not exist.
