The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are coming, but the Otterbox cases have already arrived

The iPhone 7 has finally made its debut, which means that iPhone 7 cases are now coming out of the woodwork, too. And one of the first out of the gate? The case known for making your sleek, sexy, delicate device into something a bit … boxier — that’s right, the OtterBox has a new lineup of cases for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. And while you’ll still have to wait a bit to get the actual phone, you can go ahead and get a phone case today.

“Apple continues to drive the evolution of smartphone technology in ways that are shaping the human experience,” said OtterBox CEO Jim Parke. “OtterBox has been a part of the story since the very beginning, keeping that connection protected so that we can all capture, share, and connect with the world at large.”

The new OtterBox cases are backed by the company’s trademark Certified Drop+ Protection program, meaning each and every design has been subjected to more than 238 testing hours and 24 or more tests to ensure your new iPhone is truly protected. It doesn’t matter which of the cases you choose, though you have quite the selection from which to take your pick. There’s the Symmetry Series, which boasts “trendy graphics, colors, and clear case options,” and will keep your iPhone fitting in your (rather large) pocket.

Then, there’s the Strada Series Folio, which protects the iPhone 7 with a genuine leather folio. And if you want to level up a bit, there’s the Strada Series Limited Edition + Alpha Glass, which covers your iPhone 7 in a slim protective shell with premium, printed leather patterns, including snakeskin options.

If you’re looking for something a bit more industrial, you can always go with the Defender Series, whose three-layer case design promises to guard “against the toughest drops and tumbles.” With a built-in screen protector, you’ll keep your iPhone from getting too scratched up, and the outer slipcover and inner shell will cradle your device even when they succumb to gravity.

Even Google's AI needs more time to finish its homework

Google helped kickstart the modern AI race, but staying ahead has turned out to be far more difficult than joining it. According to a new Bloomberg report, the company has fallen months behind its internal schedule for launching Gemini 3.5 Pro, its next flagship AI model, as engineers continue working to improve one of its biggest weaknesses: coding.

The delay isn't simply about polishing another chatbot. It highlights a broader problem facing Google, where massive engineering teams, multiple product divisions and increasingly strict AI safety requirements are slowing the company's ability to respond to rivals that seem happy to move much faster.
