Samsung expected to announce Galaxy Note 8.0

Samsung_Galaxy_Note_10_1_tabletCheck out our review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet.

It’s a pretty big day for Samsung rumors, it seems. Earlier today, we reported about the supposed March 14 announcement the South Korea-based company is expected to make about the new Galaxy S4 smartphone. Now it looks like Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.0 (an iPad Mini competitor), is expected to be announced next month as well, according to Ubergizmo. We can only assume that the announcement will take place at the same time as the phone’s announcement, which is expected to be done at some undisclosed event in New York City.

Rumored pricing for the new Galaxy Note 8.0 is as follows: The Wi-Fi version is expected to sell for $478, while the 4G version should go for $594. Does that sound a little high? We agree.

It’s hard to say whether or not this new release will actually fare well with users. Dedicated Note users may be inclined to stick with the brand they know, but considering the iPad Mini sells for $330 and the functionality of both are relatively similar, we can’t help but wonder why Samsung wouldn’t aim for a more competitive price point.

We’ll be waiting anxiously for the official announcement. There’s a lot to be heard from Samsung. (And we’re hoping it will all be revealed at this March 14 event, whatever it may be.

5 phones you should buy instead of the Google Pixel 8
A person holding the Google Pixel 8, showing the back of the phone.

The Google Pixel 8 is a well-received Android-based smartphone. However, there are reasons why you might not choose it and opt for something else. Perhaps its 6.2-inch display does not meet your requirements, or its camera system does not match your expectations. It could also be possible that you would prefer a phone released in 2024 instead of one launched late last year.

If you’re not interested in buying the Google Pixel 8, several alternative phones may be more suitable for your needs. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy S24 has the same-sized display as the Pixel 8 but with better internals. Alternatively, you could consider the OnePlus 12R, which offers a bigger display and better internals at a lower price. And that's just scratching the surface.

Wristwatches have been true extensions of people's personalities for much of the past century. Besides their impact on our social standing, researchers have also claimed that wearing a smartwatch may be associated with being more idealistic and humane. While that's contentious, watches have largely been replaced by smartwatches. Customization, especially the ability to change watch faces frequently, is among the biggest allures of owning a smartwatch -- besides the ease of having a reduced version of a phone on your wrist.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI is about to get a lot more useful
A Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus laying on concrete.

At some point this spring, Galaxy AI will support Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian languages. Samsung's also adding Australian English, Cantonese, and Canadian French dialects.
