In the wake of major news for AT&T and Verizon, another cell phone carrier has something to talk about. An image is making the rounds courtesy of TMO News that appears to confirm an upcoming smartphone for T-Mobile. The Samsung Vibrant Plus will be the first device to use T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 21 Mbps speeds, making it easily the fastest phone on the network.
Aside from the connectivity upgrade, the Vibrant Plus is the latest generation of T-Mobile’s Galaxy phone lineup, and is extremely similar with the exception of a few new features. The Vibrant Plus will have a front-facing camera supported by Qik video chat and will run Android 2.2. Of course, it will include that stunning 4-inch SuperAMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, and the options of 16GB or 32GB of memory like its predecessor, the Samsung Vibrant.
But of course what’s really significant about this phone are the high speeds it’s finally going to offer T-Mobile customers. At the moment, the network taps out at 14.4 Mbps with the myTouch 4G and T-Mobile G2. The Vibrant Plus will be exclusive to T-Mobile, and the carrier will be pulling out all the stops to market it. A promo featuring the phone streaming Inception is shown on the image, and if this campaign is anything like the one for the original Samsung Vibrant (which shipped a copy of Avatar with the phone), there’s a possibility of a copy being in thrown in for free. Regardless of any extras, T-Mobile users might not have to wait very long to join high speed connectivity.
