What Happened: You know that super-annoying “game” where you try to figure out which streaming service has the movie you want to watch?

  • Well, Google is finally fixing it. It’s just rolled out a new “Where to Watch” feature right inside the Google Play Store.
  • So now, when you search for a movie or TV show in the Play Store, it’ll just… tell you.
  • You’ll see a new little card that lists all the streaming services that have it. It’ll even let you install the app if you don’t have it.
  • Before this, you had to rely on a regular Google search, ask Gemini, or use a third-party app, and let’s be honest, half the time that info was old and wrong. This new way is supposed to be way more accurate and up-to-date.

Why Is This Important: This is a bigger deal than it sounds. It’s a total nightmare trying to keep track of shows when they jump from Netflix to Hulu to Peacock every six months.

  • Google’s new feature is its attempt to finally cut through that confusion and make finding something to watch simple again.
  • It’s also a really smart, low-key move for Google. It’s basically turning the Play Store into more than just a place to download apps; it’s making it the central map for navigating the messy streaming world.

Why Should I Care: Honestly? This is just a massive time-saver.

  • If you’ve ever wasted 15 minutes bouncing between three different streaming apps just to find that one movie your friend recommended, this update is for you.
  • It’s about getting rid of that endless, frustrating scrolling.

What’s Next: Google is expected to roll this out to everyone everywhere pretty soon. The next logical step is to bake this right into Gemini and your Android TV, creating one unified system that just knows where everything is, no matter what device you’re on.

Prime Video is the new home for the Emmys. It’s free for you, but Amazon paid a fortune.
Amazon has reportedly inked a six-year deal that runs to the tune of $120 million for bringing the awards show to its streaming platform.
Emmy on a TV

The Emmys are coming to Amazon's Prime Video, and the esteemed awards ceremony will be available to watch for a global audience. Amazon has an exclusive deal with the Television Academy, which spans six years and marks the first time that the awards have found a single streaming or broadcasting hub for a worldwide audience, after years of a rotating model where the likes of ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC got the rights.

"Beginning with the 2027 ceremony, the star-studded event will continue to anchor the television season by airing live in September. In a major win for entertainment fans, the ceremony will not be behind a paywall; instead, the Emmy Awards will be free to view for audiences worldwide," says Amazon in a press statement.

BTS was just the beginning. Spotify’s music quiz is coming to 2,000+ artists
Think you know your favorite artist? Spotify lets you prove it.
Spotify BTS Music Quiz

Spotify tried something fun with BTS earlier this year as it turned listening to the group into a trivia game. Now we know that wasn't supposed to remain a one-off BTS experience. Starting today, Spotify is expanding Music Quiz to more than 2,000 participating artists, giving Premium subscribers a way to test how well they actually know the musicians filling their libraries. The feature is beginning its rollout across 11 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, India, Australia, and Singapore.

BTS served as the starting point. Spotify launched its first Music Quiz alongside the group's ARIRANG album in March, letting Premium users answer questions about BTS' music, milestones, and career before comparing and sharing their scores. Six months later, Spotify is turning that experiment into an actual platform feature.
