With the return of Ecto Cooler, Ghostbusters fans will be sipping on sweet nostalgia

Whether the new-age Ghostbusters is a flop or a Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man-sized hit, the generation that grew up donning proton packs and khaki jumpsuits to Halloween parties will have something to look forward to come Summer 2016 — something that will help make even the most oppressive heat feel a bit … cooler.

According to ScreenCrush, the Coca-Cola Company plans to re-release an iconic Ghostbusters-related beverage on Memorial Day (2016). If you can’t guess which one, you’re not a true fan of the franchise — and you also aren’t very good at reading headlines.

That’s right folks, Hi-C Ecto Cooler will reportedly return to supermarket shelves for a limited time this spring/summer after a nearly 15-year hiatus, and will hope to get a whole new generation hopelessly hooked on its gloriously sugary, Slimer-approved serum.

We don’t yet know how quickly it will be re-retired or how widely available it will be, but those that do get their hands on the 6-ounce juice boxes and cold-activated, color-changing, 11.5-ounce aluminum cans are in for at least a few sips of spectacularly sweet nostalgia. If you’re looking to secure some for yourself, try following @ectocooler, the official twitter account of the beverage, for more information.

Originally released in 1987 to capitalize on the original Ghostbusters films, Ecto Cooler endured, even as the franchise went dormant. The drink continued to sell for almost 15 years after its initial release, and was finally pulled from shelves in 2001. Now, almost 30 years after its initial release, it’s ready to make its triumphant return.

With the world a bit more health-conscious these days, it will be interesting to see if Coca-Cola tinkers with the formula at all, but we’d imagine there would be an outcry from fans if it was watered down in any way.

Ghostbusters is set to hit theaters July 15, and stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth.

An airport like you’ve never heard it before
Jordan Rakei recording the sound of an aircraft flying overhead.

Europe’s busiest airport has teamed up with a Grammy-nominated artist on a music project like no other.

Jordan Rakei was given access to all areas ... well, maybe not the runway when a plane was coming in ... at the U.K.’s Heathrow Airport to record numerous audio clips and soundscapes that he then incorporated into an ambient music track for travelers -- and anyone for that matter -- to enjoy.
