Josh Groban singing outrageous Trump Tweets is as hilarious as it sounds

Josh Groban Sings Donald Trump Tweets
Every time Donald Trump makes a controversial statement, comedians everywhere know where they’re getting their next joke. Their challenge, though, is presenting them in fresh ways; after all, since announcing his run for president in June, Trump has been a constant topic on late night comedy. Luckily for us, they’re succeeding,  and a skit from the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! is proof.

Kimmel brought the talented Josh Groban on his show to bring together “two great talents” for a output that is “nothing short of magic,” according to the talk show host. It was definitely not your old song and dance. The skit took Josh Groban’s award-winning musical ability and combined it with the absurdity of Trump’s Twitter account, calling it The Best Tweets of Donald Trump. Kimmel fans may recognize the concept from 2011’s The Best Tweets of Kanye West, which the announcer claimed was the top album of that year.

“I’m Josh Groban, and I have the voice of an angel,” shares Gorban as he kicks off his performance, which sets outrageous Trump tweets to music. The controversial politician’s wide range of inflammatory viewpoints gets its due, thanks to Groban singing things like, “@BarackObama’s birth certificate is a fraud” and “Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again–just watch.”

A shining moment is when Groban sings back-to-back tweets about Macy’s that share wildly different sentiments about the retailer. “My fragrance — ‘Success’ — is flying off the shelf @Macys. The perfect Christmas gift!” goes the first. Then comes, “Macy’s stores suck and they are bad for U.S.A.” Ah, how quickly things change.

In the midst of the madness, Groban stops to dramatically tell viewers, “Donald Trump’s tweets will make you laugh, they’ll make you cry, but mostly they’ll make you cry.” Perhaps that’s true if you’re one of the people Trump repeatedly dubs a “hater” or “loser,” but mostly its a ridiculous roller coaster.
