Here’s an inside look at the Minority Report TV series

The first, official preview of the Minority Report television series debuted a few months ago, and now a new featurette offers a behind-the-scenes look at the small-screen sequel to Steven Spielberg’s 2002 sci-fi thriller.

Set 10 years after the events of the movie, the Minority Report series casts Inside Llewyn Davis actor Stark Sands as Precog Dash, one of the three “precognitive” who were used to predict future crimes in the 2002 film. Set free after the abolishment of the “Precrime” division, Dash continues to have fragmented visions of the future and soon finds himself in an unlikely partnership with police detective Lara Vega (Californication actress Meagan Good) as they continue to fight deadly crimes before they happen.

Along with being a box-office hit, the original film was notable for its presentation of future technology that wasn’t too far off the mark — including some devices and consumer tech that exist now. The same seems to be true for the Minority Report TV series, as high-tech tools and technology that borders on science fiction pepper the two-minute featurette.

Along with Sands and Good, the series stars Mad Men actress Laura Regan as Agatha, Dash’s older sister and the precog who played a key role in the 2002 film (previously played by Samantha Morton). Li Jun Li (Mistress) will play a CSI technician named Akeela, Daniel London will reprise his role from the original film as Wally the Caretaker, and Wilmer Valderrama (That ’70s Show) will play a police detective.

The Minority Report TV pilot was directed by Game of Thrones and Entourage director Mark Mylod, based on a script from Godzilla writer Max Borenstein. The series is produced by Borenstein, Mylod, Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, and Kevin Falls.

Minority Report will premiere Monday, Sept. 21, on FOX.
