What’s new on Disney+ in October 2020

If you like pop culture, you’re probably a fan of at least one of the many franchises that Disney owns — and Disney+ has nearly all of them. From The Simpsons and Pixar to Marvel and Disney Channel Originals, Disney+ has a lot to offer, and its catalog is only becoming more robust. Disney has plans to add more movies, TV shows, and original productions to the already-impressive list of launch titles throughout the remainder of 2020.

Since launching in November 2019, Disney has been rolling out new additions to the service nearly every week. In the interest of making sure you don’t miss anything, here’s the latest list of new movies and shows coming to Disney+, along with what was recently added to the service. We’ll update the list regularly as additions are announced, and we always indicate must-watch projects in bold.

Note: This list doesn’t include new episodes of ongoing series.

Our top picks for October

The Mandalorian

Season 2 of Disney’s flagship series finally arrives in October, continuing the adventures of bounty hunter Din Djarin (played by Pedro Pascal) and his adorable, Force-wielding companion, informally known as Baby Yoda (but officially called The Child). The new season finds the pair searching for a place Baby Yoda can be safe — preferably with a Jedi, according to the trailer. The new season welcomes several additions to the cast, including Rosario Dawson, Timothy Olyphant, Katee Sackhoff, and Star Wars prequel actor Temuera Morrison.

The Right Stuff

A new series from National Geographic, The Right Stuff follows the early days of the national space program in the U.S. and the first astronauts to blaze a trail into the cosmos. Like the 1983 film of the same name, The Right Stuff is based on Tom Wolfe’s 1979 novel that chronicled the efforts of the Mercury 7 astronauts as they trained to become the first humans to head into space.
