‘Stranger Things’ meets Star Wars: Millie Bobby Brown wants to play young Leia

The Force is strong with this Eleven. Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown discussed her wish-list roles during a recent Rhode Island Comic-Con panel, and she revealed that she would love to play a young Princess Leia in a Star Wars prequel, reports AV Club.

Brown brought up how more Star Wars films are being made and mentioned that she wants a role like Princess Leia. Having starred on multiple paranormal shows — Netflix’s Stranger Things and the BBC’s Intruders — she is interested in pursuing something different.

“I want to do something that’s far from Eleven or Madison,” she said, referring to her best-known characters.

A young Princess Leia seems like an intriguing possibility. After all, Disney is currently working on multiple Star Wars spinoff projects, including a Han Solo-centric prequel starring Alden Ehrenreich. If all goes well, who’s to say that Disney won’t give Leia a prequel of her own?

The film franchise currently offers only pieces of Leia’s backstory. After being born at the end of Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, we know that she was adopted by the Queen Breha of Alderaan and Senator Bail Organa. Then there’s a big gap before her story picks up in the original film, Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope. That definitely leaves a lot of interesting years to fill in.

Brown looks enough like Carrie Fisher to pull off being a young Princess Leia, and she has the acting chops, too. She has proven herself in her role as everyone’s favorite Eggos-loving character, and we expect her to continue doing so when Stranger Things returns for its second season. The actress also starred in Intruders and has appeared in episodes of NCISModern FamilyGrey’s Anatomy, and more.

Watch Brown discuss roles she is interested in below, starting around the 3:20 mark.

Damsel’s director on leaving horror behind, Millie Bobby Brown, and sequel plans
A woman looks out in a cave in Damsel.

It's a tale as old as time: a beauty born of royal blood encounters a very fearsome beast in a faraway land. But while Damsel's damsel, Millie Bobbie Brown's Princess Elodie, is in distress at times, she's not waiting around for anyone to save her from the beast, in this case a fire-breathing dragon, that threatens her. She can do quite well on her own, thank you very much, and as the Netflix fantasy film ultimately shows, Elodie is the hero in her own story with no need for a handsome paramour to rescue her.

It's this subversive flourish, plus plenty of sword fights, some mysterious caverns, and one ticked-off heroine, that makes Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's Damsel so delightful to watch. Digital Trends recently chatted with the Spanish director and found out what drew him to Damsel, why he made the leap from horror to fantasy, his working relationship with Brown, and whether or not there will be a Damsel 2 in the future.

Star Wars could’ve had Christopher Walken as Han Solo and Jodie Foster as Princess Leia
An old man talks in Dune: Part Two.

The great thing about a hit movie is that you tend to find out things during interviews, premieres, and press conferences that would have never surfaced otherwise. Dune: Part Two is one such movie. In the lead-up to the movie's blockbuster opening weekend, we've discovered Josh Brolin's hidden talents as a poet and photographer, Javier Bardem's dedication to his children, Zendaya's love for the sci-fi classic Metropolis, and Austin Butler's appreciation for The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

The most recent revelation, however, tops all of those. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Christopher Walken, who plays Shaddam IV, the film's fearsome Emperor, explains why he came out of a four-year break from acting in films and joined Dune: Part Two. One reason was due to his admiration for the first film, which cemented Denis Villeneuve's status as one of the best sci-fi directors ever, and his appreciation of the sequel's impressive cast, which also includes Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, and Dave Bautista.

5 characters we think will die in Stranger Things season 5
The cast of "Stranger Things" stand next to each other and look up.

The end is near for Stranger Things as the upcoming fifth season of the popular Netflix show will be the last of the series. Since it's the final run of episodes, fans have already begun to speculate who will live and die. The status of major characters became a point of discussion after Millie Bobby Brown (Enola Holmes 2) joked that the show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, need to be more like Game of Thrones and kill off characters. In response to Brown, The Duffers explained how the show is in Hawkins, not Westeros, and that killing off a character like Mike (Finn Wolfhard) would make the show "depressing."

That does not mean Stranger Things has shied away from death. In season 4, fan-favorite Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) was killed despite his growing popularity as a character. The question is not if any characters will die in season 5. The issue becomes which characters from the main ensemble will die. Below are five characters we think may die in Stranger Things season 5.
