If there’s anything that Super Bowl LIX is going to be remembered for, it’s not going to be the game itself. The Kansas City Chiefs looked anything but mighty as they were crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 in a contest that was not as close as the score appeared. In fact, the only real entertainment we had all night was in this year’s batch of Super Bowl 2025 commercials.

Unfortunately, this was not a year for all-time classic Super Bowl ads. There were some truly awful commercials, as well as a few that made us wonder how anyone thought that these were good ideas worthy of the millions of dollars that were poured into them. Regardless, there were also ads that stood out and left their mark with good humor. We’ve taken those spots and narrowed them down to this year’s list of the 10 best Super Bowl 2025 commercials.

10. Genius Beluga, NerdWallet

Genius Beluga [OFFICIAL] - NerdWallet Big Game Commercial 2025

Why did this commercial work while Mountain Dew’s Seal as a seal idea came off as freaky? For one thing, NerdWallet didn’t put Kieran Culkin’s face on the Beluga whale. They just had him lend his voice to the company’s new mascot as he informed a very surprised man about the credit card info services of NerdWallet. We can probably expect to see this whale make a comeback next year.

9. Not so Fast & Furious, Häagen-Dazs

Häagen-Dazs Super Bowl Commercial

Admittedly, this commercial only works if you know Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez from the Fast & Furious movies. But if you do understand that their characters tend to race through life “a quarter mile at a time,” it’s amusing to see how a little taste of Häagen-Dazs ice cream convinces them to slow down and savor the moment.

8. Owner’s Manual, Jeep

Jeep® | Big Game | Harrison Ford x Jeep | Owner’s Manual

In 2012, Clint Eastwood had an incredible Super Bowl ad for Chrysler that doubled as an inspirational pep talk for the entire nation. Jeep’s Owner’s Manual isn’t quite on that level, but Harrison Ford lends it some much-needed gravitas as he speaks about freedom and what it means.

7. The Ultra Hustle, Michelob Ultra

The ULTRA Hustle | Super Bowl LIX | Michelob ULTRA

For Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara, it’s not enough to buy their own Michelob Ultra beers. They have to make a game out of it by hustling some marks into handing over their own Michelob Ultras while humiliating professional athletes like Sabrina Ionescu, Randy Moss, and Ryan Crouser. Dafoe and O’Hara turned out to be a great comedic duo, and almost everything they said or did in this ad was hysterical.

6. A Century of Cravings, Uber Eats

A Century of Cravings - Extended Cut | Uber Eats

Uber Eats did an excellent job of teasing this ad with snippets of Matthew McConaughey before revealing the premise. McConaughey’s character believes that football is a conspiracy that was only created to make people hungry, and he draws from the long history of the game to make that point. Kevin Bacon, Martha Stewart, Greta Gerwig, and more also have cameo appearances, but this is a showcase for McConaughey at his silliest.

5. The DunKings 2, Dunkin’ Donuts

DunKings 2: The Movie ft. Ben & Casey Affleck, Jeremy Strong, Bill Belichick, Druski & Donnie

Last year’s DunKings ad was our pick for the best Super Bowl 2024 commercial. Jennifer Lopez’s barely contained fury made her look like she was going to immediately divorce Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s apologetic demeanor for even being involved was hysterical. Without Lopez — who actually did divorce Affleck a few months later — or Damon, the sequel doesn’t hold up quite as well. There are some good comedic bits, including Succession‘s Jeremy Strong making fun of his method acting technique. But why is Bill Belichick there with his non-celebrity girlfriend who is almost a half-century younger than he is?

4. Abduction, Doritos

Abduction

Doritos struck gold with this very funny commercial about an amateur alien hunter who learns that UFOs are real… and they want his chips. This is a callback to when the slapstick in Super Bowl ads could be over-the-top and hilarious. The closing moment of first contact is also very amusing.

3. David & Dave: The Other David, Stella Artois

Stella Artois | David & Dave: The Other David

Maybe the reason the DunKings sequel wasn’t as good as last year’s ad is because Matt Damon was busy starring in this commercial for Stella Artois, a Belgium beer. British soccer star David Beckham gets the news from his actual parents that he has a twin brother (played by Damon) who lives in America and has the same name.

The two Davids find their common ground through a love for Stella Artois, some impressive kicking power, and a joke at Damon’s expense.

2. We’re Here, Instacart

"We're Here" Big Game Director's Cut | Instacart

Nothing plays bigger at the Super Bowl than nostalgia. In fact, one of the best Radio Shack ads ever made brought back several icons from the ’80s. Instacart’s Super Bowl ad kind of does the same thing with a lot of familiar advertising characters from the past. Chester Cheetah, the Jolly Green Giant, Mr. Clean, and even Isaiah Mustafa’s Old Spice Man resurface here in a race to your door in Instacart’s delivery service.

1. Act Like You Know, GoDaddy

Act Like You Know :60 | GoDaddy Super Bowl Commercial 2025

Walton Goggins, the silver-tongued Ghoul from Prime Video’s Fallout series walked away with the best commercial of Super Bowl 2025. In the earliest days of GoDaddy, the internet tech company would just throw some half-naked women in showers and call it a tawdry day. This year, Goggins served as a very effective pitchman for GoDaddy’s web-hosting services while spoofing the notion that actors have any idea what they’re talking about.

Oh, and the Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses seen in the ad? They’re actually real, and you can find the site online. It’s worth it alone for Goggins’ tagline: “If your goggles ain’t Goggins, they don’t belong on your noggin.”

Best new movies to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Max (HBO), and more
A man leans on a railing in Kraven the Hunter.

It's a bit of a weird week for our list of the best movies to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Max (HBO), and other services because several of the week's highlights are... well, famously bad? We do call it the best new movies, but we still make a point to include major releases when they arrive, even when they weren't exactly well-received upon release. People still want to see those movies for themselves, after all!

This week is highlighted (lowlighted?) by two of the biggest box office bombs of 2024, Better Man and Kraven the Hunter, plus Disney's underwhelming Moana 2, and a few more hopeful releases.
We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.

The 50 best movies on Netflix right now (March 2025)
Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt in a promo image for The Electric State.

Sometimes, the top films on the most popular movies on Netflix aren't necessarily the best movies on Netflix. That's the case with this week's selections, The Electric State and Trap. Both of these films have received some horrific reviews, and yet the latter is already at No. 1 on Netflix's list, and we'd be shocked if The Electric State isn't far behind since it's the latest movie by the Russo brothers.
We're definitely more enthusiastic about some other recent arrivals, including Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Runaway Jury. The beauty of Netflix is that it has a very deep library of films to draw on, both from other studios and the streamer's lineup of original movies. You can find the rest of the best movies on Netflix below. Remember to check this list every Friday morning when we update the lineup to give you the most enticing movie options available.
Looking for something else? We've also rounded up the best movies to stream this week, the best shows on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime, and the best movies on Disney+.

What's on tap for Amazon Prime Video? And if you want some romance in your life this week, the British rom-com called Picture This is still high on Prime Video's movie list.
