The Furious Five return in this new Kung Fu Panda 2 trailer

Dreamworks and Paramount return to the mystic Orient with the most famous panda that the world isn’t waiting to procreate. Po, the kung fu panda returns with the Furious Five, as a new bad guy–the emperor peacock–attempts to take over China with a powerful new weapon.

To defeat the emperor and save all of kung fu, Po must confront his own past to find the strength to win. Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, David Cross, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogan and Angelina Jolie return alongside Gary Oldman as the emperor.

Kung Fu Panda 2 debuts in 3D on May 26.

Over the past decade, Andrew Garfield has worked hard to prove that he's more than just his Spider-Man character. Even so, Garfield admitted during a press conference at the Marrakesh Film Festival that he's still “had to work very hard to have less people ask questions about Spider-Man."

“I’m still working on it, obviously. It’s an imperfect process,” he added. Garfield is currently sitting on a jury at the festival alongside Luca Guadagnino and Jacob Elordi. Garfield added that, in spite of his reticence to continue answering questions about that role, he was "grateful" for it because “it allowed [him] to maybe have an easier shot at working with people like Martin Scorsese straight after.”

It's still early days for the DC Universe. The highly anticipated, multimedia franchise hasn't even released its first film yet (that'll be 2025's Superman) and is only now on the verge of rolling out its debut TV show, an animated Suicide Squad spin-off titled Creature Commandos. Nonetheless, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn already has some very clear ideas about what he wants the DCU to be, as well as what he doesn't want it to be.

In an interview with Collider, Gunn said that he doesn't want the interconnectivity of the DCU to bog down the franchise or make viewers feel like they need to do "homework" in order to keep up with it. "A lot of what DC is, and the fun for me, really, is in the world-building, not just the story-building. I don't think of DCU as being, 'Oh, this is a story we're telling over multiple films and TV shows about one big bad.' I don't want to have to do, as an audience member, the homework to have to see every single thing," Gunn explained. "It is more of a connected universe that exists within one place, which is the DCU."

If there's one thing that director Denis Villeneuve has proven, it's that he is capable of pulling off large-scale sci-fi films better than almost any other working filmmaker. His back-to-back efforts directing Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two have subsequently cemented his status as one of the best sci-fi artists in Hollywood right now.

Despite that, Villeneuve has no interest in ever directing an installment in Hollywood's biggest and most prized sci-fi franchise, Star Wars. The filmmaker revealed as much during a podcast appearance on The Town when he discussed not only the life-changing impact that 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope and 1980's Empire Strikes Back had on him as a child, but also how disappointed he was by 1983's Return of the Jedi.
