Since then, he has won 15 of his 18 fights with the UFC, scoring numerous Performance of the Night awards and notable victories over opponents such as recent champion Henry Cejudo. UFC Fight Night 169 will mark his first true shot at a title.
Figueiredo, ranked third on the men’s flyweight roster, is more of a newcomer to the UFC. Boasting an impressive record of his own with 17 victories and only one defeat, Figueiredo signed on with the UFC in 2017 and has had a solid run since: He’s won six of his seven fights in the UFC (his single loss was to Jussier Formiga, whom Benavidez has beaten twice), and is walking into the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 159 following a two-win streak.
