why buy 2015 macbook pro instead of 2019 2

I bought a four-year-old MacBook Pro instead of a new one. Here’s why

The new MacBook Pros have a ton of advantages over the older options, but when it came to buying a replacement machine for myself, I found myself returning to 2015 rather than picking up Apple's latest and greatest. Sorry, Apple. The decline in reliability on these new devices left me with a hard choice to make.

Why iTunes had to die to be reborn

Apple’s decision to kill off iTunes-as-we-know-it, as announced during WWDC 2019, makes me nostalgic. Not only because it was instrumental in bringing me into the Apple family; but because I still rely on iTunes today for the same reason it was created back in 2001. But reports of its death may be overblown.

That Game of Thrones re-do petition is more embarrassing than any coffee cup

A Game of Thrones fan petition to remake the show's eighth and final season with just one episode to go is not just silly -- it's a misunderstanding of the relationship between shows and their audience, and a nearly impossible demand to make of the network and the series' cast.

Who is Microsoft’s new Edge browser for? Probably not you or me

Microsoft's new Chromium-based Edge browser is confusing. Is it for enterprise customers who will benefit from its hooks to Internet Explorer, Microsoft's cloud services, and platform agnosticism? Or is it for consumers who will like its privacy and security features? Probably the former, actually.

An ode to Cuphead: One of the most lovable games of all time

Revisiting Cuphead on Nintendo Switch is just as memorable as it was on Xbox One nearly two years ago. Cuphead's 1930s cartoon aesthetic is incomparable, evoking a childlike sense of wonder long after the formative period of imagination and discovery has seemingly ended.

DMC 5’s greatness is a reminder of all the open world games that wasted my time

Devil May Cry 5 modernizes the stylish action combat while retaining its storied PS2 roots. More so, though, it reminded me that we could sure use more linear, single player games. Open world games are littered with filler content, often hiding their best aspects behind plethoras of tedium.

Alexa may be everywhere, but it’s Google’s Assistant I want in my home. Here’s why

The Amazon Alexa may have the Google Home beat in numbers of skills and compatibility with other products, but does that really matter when her voice falls flat for day-to-day conversation? Google Home sounds more natural, is easy to speak to, and its responses don't quite hint at a hostile robot uprising.

'Age Of Empires II" is approaching its twenty birthday. Yet it still has a loyal following that, against all odds, has only increased over the past five years. This is no 'live service' trick. Unlike Bioware's new blockbuster, 'Anthem,' the classic RTS remains relevant because it's good.
