After the iPhone Pocket, Apple’s latest quirky accessory is a grip-loving MagSafe stand

An accessibility-first add-on that’s also a statement piece

What’s happened? A few days back, Apple gave us the “iPhone Pocket,” a $230 knitted pouch for the iPhone. Now Apple is back with another quirky accessory: the new Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand, a designer collab product with Bailey Hikawa, that magnetically attaches to your iPhone.

  • The limited edition stand works as a chunky grip and stand that can latch onto any iPhone with MagSafe compatibility.
  • Comes in exclusive finishes via Apple store in fluorescent green color (officially “Chartreuse”) and what looks like a speckled stone finish (officially “Crater”) for $70.
  • You can also get in extra colours (Blue, Swirly Blurple) through Hikawa’s own store.

This is important because: Apple isn’t pitching this as just another cute add-on. The grip was developed using feedback from people with disabilities affecting muscle strength, dexterity and hand control, and it’s part of Apple’s 40-year accessibility push.

  • It has an ergonomic shape with ridges with a central opening to support different ways of holding the phone.
  • Soft-touch silicone for a stable, less-slippery feel during long use.
  • Apple says the Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand has been designed as an adaptive accessory first, not a “style then accessibility later” product.

Why should I care? The grip stand can help you hold your phone more securely and reduce hand strain.

  • Want to watch a video or join a FaceTime call hands-free? Flip it into stand mode, set it on a table, and you’re done. No more leaning against books or pillows.
  • Makes one-handed texting, clicking pictures and holding the device easier, especially on bigger iPhones.
  • If your current case supports MagSafe, this accessory snaps on and off quickly and requires no extra setup.
  • The soft-touch silicone and bold colour finishes make it a perfect blend of a design statement and a grip accessory.

iPhone 18 could get a RAM boost, but only a tiny sliver to run AI chores in iOS 27
A new report suggests the extra memory is aimed at keeping Apple Intelligence running smoothly.
Apple iPhone 17 back

Apple's next iPhone may not get a dramatic RAM upgrade, but it could receive just enough extra memory to keep its growing AI ambitions running smoothly. According to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are expected to move from 8GB to 9GB of RAM, primarily to support deeper Apple Intelligence integration in iOS 27.

This free iPhone app uses soothing haptics to help you calm down
This iOS app skips accounts and subscriptions, relying on touch alone to help you relax.

Most mindfulness apps want you to create an account, buy subscription, and give a chunk of your attention before they help you unwind. Vän, a new iPhone app from Swiss indie developer Adrian Stanco, is built to be the opposite.

I found the app on Reddit, and the pitch alone made me curious enough to try it. Instead of sounds or endless scrolling, it leans entirely on haptics, the tiny vibrations your phone is already capable of producing. The result is a feeling of calm you get by simply holding your smartphone rather than watching the screen.
