The best Huawei P40 Pro cases and covers

All right, so it doesn’t have Google Play Services — but if you can look past that, there’s no doubt Huawei has created an incredible phone in the Huawei P40 Pro. It’s a gorgeous blend of metal and glass, with the massive camera module being the only real interruption on the phone’s sleek surface. That huge camera isn’t just for show either, and it packs a formidable quad-lens camera that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 40MP wide-angle sensor, a 12MP telephoto sensor, and a Time-of-Flight depth sensor.

But none of those new features will save the P40 Pro if it takes a swan dive onto a concrete floor. Glass is glass, and spiderweb cracks can prove an ugly addition to a sleek flagship phone. How best to avoid this dismal fate? Slap on a protective case. But which should you buy? We’ve sifted through the many options available to bring you a list of some of the best cases you can buy to keep your Huawei P40 Pro in top condition.

Zouzt Vegan Leather Wallet Case

This case has plenty of space to store your cards, cash, and ID, so you can leave your wallet at home. Crafted from vegan leather, it comes in a choice of five colors, though we’d go for the sleek navy blue. The strong magnetic closure ensures your screen won’t be at risk of scratches, while the case itself folds out into a handy kickstand for hands-free video calls or Netflix sessions. The material feels high quality, and at this price, you could pick up a couple in the colors of your choice, for a bit of variety.

Kwmobile TPU Silicone Case

Grippy phone cases usually aren’t the most attractive cases — but that’s about to change. This silicone case from Kwmobile comes in a range of hues including the refreshing matte mint colorway, our favorite. The coated TPU silicone feels grippy in your hand, and provides a great degree of shock absorption and protection should you drop your phone. It’s easy to wipe away fingerprints too, keeping your case looking as good as new. Unlike some other silicone cases, this one’s a fairly snug fit, so you can rest safe in the knowledge it won’t slip off.

Ringke Fusion X Camo Case

Clear cases are great — they let you show off the back of your phone, while providing the needed protection to keep it smudge and scratch-free. Ringke takes it to the next level with the Fusion X Camo case. The textured camo design enhances your grip on the P40 Pro while looking stealthy and unique. The case is durably built with reinforced corner bumpers and Ringke’s signature Duo-QuikCatch lanyard hole so you can attach the case to a wrist or shoulder strap. With precise cutouts and support for wireless charging, the Fusion X Camo is a great case for the low price tag.

Spigen Rugged Armor Case

The Spigen Rugged Armor has set the standard for slim yet protective cases. Made with a flexible TPU material and an interior spider-web pattern, the case will keep your P40 Pro protected from the usual scratches and bumps. At only 0.11 inches thick, you’re also not adding much bulk to the already large P40 Pro. While Spigen has been pushing out the Rugged Armor case for hundreds of phone models, the classic non-slip, fingerprint-free, dual-textured design on the back is still retained and still very desirable. The sides are also textured making the case comfortable to hold.

Pitaka MagEZ Case

Pitaka’s latest MagEZ case is made with minimalists in mind. The aramid fibers that make up the outer layer of the case are silky-soft, allowing the P40 Pro to rest smoothly on the palm of your hand. With a thinness of 0.85mm, the Mag EZ is a great option for those looking to encase their smartphone while retaining its weight and thickness. The sturdy metal build of the case doesn’t interfere with cellular, Wi-Fi, or GPS connectivity, and even supports wireless charging. However, you’ll want to look elsewhere if you’re searching for some drop protection as the Mag EZ definitely more tailored toward scratch-resistance.

Cose Jack Reinforced Clear Case

Unlike previous P-range flagships, there’s a lack of really crazy color variants for the P40 Pro. Thankfully, you can remedy that with this stunning pink and teal case from Cose Jack. While probably not the case for everyone, the bold colors make a strong statement. It’s made from a hard polycarbonate shell and a flexible TPU bumper, giving strong protection against bumps, scratches, and drops. The corners have been reinforced to further resist damage from drops, and there’s a non-slip coating to make sure your phone stays in your hand and is less likely to slip off slippery surfaces.

Anccer Ultra-Thin Hard Shell Case

If preserving the sleek lines of your phone is what matters to you, then this ultra-thin hard case will be right up your street. Being made entirely from hard polycarbonate, it clips onto your phone and sits close, protecting it from minor damage and scratches. There’s not much give it in though, which means it’ll struggle to provide the impact-absorption qualities of a softer material like TPU. However, it’s still better than nothing, and its thin profile means it’s able to slip into pockets and bags easier than a larger, more rugged case. It’s available in several different colors, and the soft-touch finish provides a grippy surface for your fingers.

UAG Plasma Series Case

UAG’s Plasma case is the best protective case for Huawei P40 owners who like to spend time in the great outdoors as it stands up well to rugged conditions. Of course, you will have to shell out a little extra for superior protection. It showcases a quality three-layer mechanism with a sturdy armor shell, a soft core with impact-resistant materials, and a very lightweight layer in between.

UAG’s trademark honeycomb configuration and rugged style prove how strong the product is. It provides much-needed extra security and a military-grade MIL-SPEC (810G – 516.6) ranking for covered buttons, elevated bezel, drop protection, and reinforced corners. No worries, though, because the additional protection won’t complicate using the touchscreen. While this case may be considerably more pricey than the other cases on our list, you will get what you pay for in optimum protection against weather and falls. Its one-year warranty may also justify the price.

iPhone SOS Feature

Usually, footnotes are all about burying bad news from a launch event, something that will hit people where it hurts. But Apple did the opposite with its recent launch.

Buried in a footnote in this week's iPhone 18 Pro release is good news, specifically for old iPhone users: Apple just extended free access to its satellite-based safety features.

iOS 27 beta 2 update on iPhone

Apple spent plenty of time talking about its shiny new iPhone 18 Pro models this week, but you won't need to buy a new phone to get one of its biggest announcements. iOS 27 officially arrives on September 14, bringing Apple's long-awaited Siri overhaul to supported iPhones. Apple first showed off iOS 27 at WWDC in June, and the software has spent the past few months moving through developer and public betas. Now, the finished version is almost ready for everyone.

Plenty of smaller changes are scattered throughout iOS 27, but Siri AI definitely grabs all the attention. This isn't just Apple adding a few new commands to the existing assistant, either. Siri has been rebuilt to better understand what you're asking and, more importantly, handle multi-step requests.
