Is a Hasselblad camera module coming to the Moto Z? Leak says it’s possible

Add as a preferred source on Google

When the Moto Z was first launched, a number of great Moto Mods were launched alongside it, including a projector, battery pack, and a JBL speaker. One thing, however, was missing — a more extensive camera.

Sure, smartphone cameras are getting better, but they’re not on the same level as purpose-built DSLR cameras — not by a long shot. It seems, however, as though we may be getting a Moto Mod camera module in the near future, at least if a new leak is anything to go by.

The camera module will reportedly be built by Hasselblad, and speculation was that the module would be announced alongside the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. According to the leak, which includes a photo, the camera module will include a True Zoom Camera, offering up to 10x optical zoom, a xenon flash, a physical shutter and zoom, and even support for RAW photos.

The leak comes from well-known Motorola leakster HelloMotoHK, which got the photo from Weibo user @ucanup. Additional photos emerged in late August.

For those needing a portable camera option, this mod will most certainly be a helpful one, and will seriously improve the capabilities of the phone’s camera.

Of course, there’s no official information about the mod just yet, so it’s important to take everything with a grain of salt. We don’t know anything about the price at this time, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see it come in at a few hundred dollars, especially given the fact that Sony has produced modular camera attachments for its phones in that price range.

The modular smartphone concept has started becoming a lot more popular of late, and could add a lot more functionality to our smartphones. The camera has always been a big part of the smartphone, and an improved camera could really boost the quality of photos being taken on the fly.

The iPhone Duo gives iOS room to breathe, and it’s a whole new experience
Apple iPhone Duo Design Official

With nearly 3 million people watching, Apple had its "and one more thing" moment again with its first-ever foldable. After years of anticipation, the iPhone Duo finally made its debut, and it instantly sent the internet in a frenzy. Chatter all across social media was revolving around how the new iPhone looked, while other made fun of how much it cost.

But what really had me hooked was the way it worked. I didn’t expect the iPhone Duo to completely change how I looked at iOS 27. Apple’s latest software update has plenty going for it on a conventional iPhone. Siri AI is finally here, Liquid Glass is more customizable, and many smaller quality-of-life improvements scattered everywhere. We've already spent time with those changes, and the general feeling has been one of refinement rather than reinvention.

iPhone Duo’s foldable screen is special, but Apple won’t say much about the crease or durability
The iPhone Duo's clever display technology makes its crease surprisingly difficult to spot, but a great first impression doesn't tell us how Apple's $1,999 foldable will age.
Electronics, Phone, Mobile Phone

Apple has finally entered the foldable phone race with the iPhone Duo, and after years of watching Samsung, Google, and others wrestle with folding displays, Apple appears to have spent a lot of time on one particularly stubborn problem: the crease.

Open the $1,999 iPhone Duo, and you get a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the outside has a much more compact 5.4-inch screen. Both support ProMotion, Always-On functionality, and up to 3,000 nits of outdoor brightness. The inner display will even work with the USB-C Apple Pencil later this year. Those specifications are nice, but I'm much more interested in what Apple has done to make the middle of that 7.6-inch screen look less like, well, a folding screen.

Apple Intelligence is getting usage limits, and here’s what it means for you
The free lunch is over. Apple Intelligence is about to start counting your requests.
Siri Ai on iPhone

In its July earnings call, Apple hinted that Apple Intelligence will have usage limits, and heavy users will need to subscribe to iCloud+ plans to get past them. Apple has now revealed more details on the matter.

Starting with the 2027 software update, Apple Intelligence is set for a serious upgrade with broader access to its server-powered features. But there's a catch. Apple plans to roll out usage limits across many of these tools to keep things fast and reliable for everyone.
