Motorola used its moment at MWC 2026 (Mobile World Congress) to officially release its latest foldable flagship. With the new Razr Fold, the brand has built a notebook-style foldable. But unlike certain Razr flip models that brought foldable tech with approachable price tags, the Razr Fold enters the foldable segment at a premium price point. So despite the high anticipation for a budget foldable, Motorola isn’t chasing affordability this time around.

Official pricing and availability you should know

During the major tech event, Motorola announced the Razr Fold’s official pricing, placing it squarely in the ultra-premium range. In Europe, the foldable flagship is bundled with the moto pen ultra and carries an MSRP of €1,999 (~$2,340).

After the initial European release, the devices will roll out in the coming months across select regions like North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East. Regional pricing for these markets will be revealed closer to the local releases. So while early expectations were pointing at a more accessible foldable, the Motorola Razr Fold is a true Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold competitor.

What you get for a premium price

Starting with the design, durability was a clear focus from the get-go. The Razr Fold is the first phone to feature Corning’s Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 for improved protection against drops. For protection against the elements, you get an IP48 and IP49 rating for water and dust resistance. The cover display is a 6.6-inch 165Hz pOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and 6000nits of peakbrightness.

But the real star is the large 8.1-inch main display, which features an LTPO panel with a 1–120Hz variable refresh rate, a 2484 x 2232 resolution, and an even higher 6,200 nits peak brightness. It might not be the thinnest foldable out there, but Motorola has achieved respectable dimensions here with a phone measuring 4.6mm when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded. Though the phone does weigh a fairly hefty 244 grams.

Powering this device is the same chip found on the Motorola Signature, which is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Out of the box, the Razr Fold runs on the Android 16 OS with promises for up to 7 years of Android updates and security patches. It houses a massive 6,000mAh battery pack that supports 80W wired fast charging and an impressive 50W wireless charging.

Cameras are indeed a highlight

Photography in foldable phones was typically seen as one of their weak points, but Chinese brands have steadily changed the narrative. Now, Motorola swings back with a powerful camera setup on the Razr Fold that has even earned DXOMARK’s Gold Label, scoring 164 points and landing in the top 10 overall rankings.

The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYTIA 828 sensor coupled with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, the outer display packs a 32MP shooter, while the inner screen has a 20MP camera. Motorola has stepped up the video recording to 8K with Dolby Vision support on this model.

Alongside the standard Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White color options, the brand has also unveiled the FIFA World Cup 26 Collection Edition of the Razr Fold. This special variant features a raised-dot pattern on the rear panel and includes the official FIFA World Cup 2026 logo, finished with 24K gold plating.

Don’t breathe easy just yet. Apple and Microsoft aren’t done with price hikes.
Xbox and Apple device price hikes could be a warning for the rest of the tech industry.

Earlier today, Microsoft raised the price of its Xbox consoles by up to $150 in the U.S. Just a few hours before that, Apple announced a similar move for its Mac and iPad portfolio, while also raising the sticker price of its Vision Pro headset and several other products except the iPhone. But it seems these two giants are not done with price hikes yet.

Neither company has explicitly said that more price hikes are coming, but their statements suggest otherwise. Take, for example, this statement that Apple shared with The Washington Post earlier today.

Samsung’s wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 may fix the two foldable flaws people still complain about
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide may be the complete foldable Samsung had envisioned
Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

Samsung’s next premium book-style foldable may do more than refine its design and get the annual spec bump. A new leak suggests the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide could directly address two of the most annoying foldable complaints, namely the weight and display crease.

According to sources who have handled samples of Samsung’s wider Fold 8 model, the phone feels surprisingly light. he actual weight is still unconfirmed, but previous leaks have pointed to around 201g, which would make it lighter than the 215g Galaxy Z Fold 7 and even the 214g Galaxy S26 Ultra. This might not sound like a big deal till you've actually used a foldable phone. I recently reviewed the Motorola Razr Fold, and despite its slim design, the heft is what kept me away from switching to it for a while.

Oppo’s Reno 16 Pro wants to be your camera, editor, and vanity mirror

Oppo has started rolling out the Reno 16 Pro globally, giving Europe its newest style-heavy, camera-focused Android phone with a few impressive numbers on the spec sheet.

The European model is listed in Germany and Austria in a single 12GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration. It costs €1,099, though Oppo is offering a launch discount that brings it down to €899 until July 31. Pre-orders are open now, with release set for July 3. Considering how the Reno lineup is considered the brand's upper mid-range model, the price is nothing to scoff at. But Oppo isn't raising the prices for nothing. It is pushing the Reno line closer to premium territory, with cameras, design, and creator-friendly extras doing most of the selling.
