Motorola could be adopting Qi2 wireless charging technology, joining Google Pixels and Apple iPhones for magnetic charging support. While Android’s Qi2 rollout has been oddly frustrating, the company’s upcoming Edge phone could be the first to bring it to a non-flagship model.

A Wireless Power Consortium listing has revealed the Motorola Edge 70 Max, while another leak has revealed more details regarding its specs and features. We also get a look at some of the leaked promo material that shows magnetic Qi2 in action.

This is the Qi2 phone Android should have had already

Apple made MagSafe feel normal years ago. On Android, many phones still rely on “Qi2-ready” workarounds where the magnets come from a case rather than the phone itself. Only the Pixel 10 series set itself apart with built-in magnets. Now, the WPC certification reveals that the Motorola Edge 70 Max is arriving with 25W wireless charging, along with support for the growing Qi2 accessory ecosystem.

For a premium midrange phone, that could be a real differentiator. Wireless charging alone is nice. Magnetic wireless charging is more useful because it changes how people actually use accessories. Magnets allow for better alignment, which helps power banks stick properly. Even a desk stand holds onto the device better, while car mounts become more viable. Another example is camera grips and other snap-on attachments.

What does the leak reveal?

The Motorola Edge 70 Max might be positioned as a premium mid-range phone, sitting right under the flagship Motorola Signature and Motorola Razr Fold. According to Digital Citizen, the device will pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 50MP main camera with a Sony Lytia sensor, a rugged MIL-STD-810H-certified chassis, and color options including green, light blue, and black. This also means that its pricing would be higher than the typical Edge series phone.

I tried the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and I am totally in love with this unique foldable
Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 trades bulk for a genuinely pocketable design, and after holding one next to an iPhone 17 Pro, I'm convinced it's the foldable to beat this year.
Symbol, Electronics, Mobile Phone

Samsung is trying to jazz things up once again in the foldable space, and the mantra this time around is going smaller and lighter. The result of those efforts is the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and it’s the first time in years that I vocally said “wow” the moment I picked it up. It’s pocketable, light, sleek, and most importantly, oozes functional charm.

Just take a look at how petite it is when held alongside a modern-age iPhone. In an age when smartphones are getting thicker and bulkier, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 wants to stand out in a rather unique fashion. Even in the unfolded state, it’s less than a millimeter thicker than an iPhone 17 Pro (9.7 vs 8.75 mm). If you compare the weight, the comparison flips in its favor. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is lighter than even the smaller iPhone 17 Pro (201 grams vs 204 grams).

Adobe Acrobat is adding built-in viewing and annotation tools for PDFs shared through WhatsApp on larger screens
Text, Person, Aircraft

Adobe is making PDF attachments much less annoying in WhatsApp. Its new Acrobat integration lets you open a PDF and mark it up without downloading the file or leaving the conversation.

The feature is available today through WhatsApp Web and the Windows app. The headline comes with an important caveat, though. This isn’t full PDF editing. You can review and annotate a document, but you can’t rewrite its original text or rearrange the layout.
