OnePlus is finally staging a global launch of its 2022 flagship — the OnePlus 10 Pro — after a China-only launch earlier in the year. The phone is coming to the U.S., U.K., and other markets starting March 31, with pre-orders opening either on the OnePlus official site or Amazon.

OnePlus 10 Pro Launch Event Trailer

We more or less knew everything about the OnePlus 10 Pro following its China launch, but now we know it’ll be coming to the U.S., the U.K., parts of Europe, and India.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring the OnePlus 10 Pro to India, Europe, and North America alongside the OnePlus Buds Pro in Radiant Silver,” said Pete Lau, founder of OnePlus, in a press release. “With the second-generation Hasselblad Camera for mobile, super-fast charging, and the best performance in any OnePlus smartphone to date, we believe the OnePlus 10 Pro is a well-rounded flagship that is extremely competitive at its price point.”

Like all Android phones wearing a “Pro” suffix in 2022, there is a 6.7-inch QHD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also a massive 5,000mAh battery with fast charging, and Android 12 paired with OxygenOS 12.1 is along for the ride as well. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and it touts a triple rear camera layout that is the star of the show.

As with the OnePlus 9 Pro, this delightful camera is tuned by camera company Hasselblad, and there’s a 48-megapixel main camera, a 50 ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Around the front, the OnePlus has a 32MP camera for selfies and video calling. For superfans, OnePlus is also offering a free pair of OnePlus Buds Pro to those who pre-order.

The OnePlus 10 Pro will come in two variants, with an 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage base model in Volcanic Black only for 800 British pounds or 900 euros, and a model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in both Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest for 900 pounds or 1,000 euros.

In the U.S., the OnePlus 10 Pro will be available in both Volcanic Blank and Emerald Green in the 8GB/128GB configuration. Colorways will vary by outlet.

If you’re interested in placing an order, OnePlus says the phone will be immediately available for order on Amazon as well as OnePlus’s site. You’ll be able to buy it from  T-Mobile in Volcanic Black from $37.50 a month or for free with eligible trade-ins on the Magenta Max plan. In the U.K., OnePlus will also be available from John Lewis, with pre-orders opening on April 5, 2022.

In the U.S., you’ll be able to pre-order the OnePlus 10 Pro for $899 starting on March 31 from Oneplus.com. Sales will begin online and in-store at T-Mobile, Best Buy, and Amazon on April 14.

OnePlus also announced a new colorway for the OnePlus Buds Pro, making it available in Radiant Silver. It will be priced at 150 pounds, 140 euros, and $150.

OnePlus has seen a transition from a niche enthusiast company to a somewhat mainstream smartphone brand over the years, but jettisoning some of the aspects that brought it cult fame has led to backlash. The company had revised its OxygenOS software to look a lot more like ColorOS, a version of Android that differs from what you’d expect from Google or Samsung and veers more toward (predictably) Oppo. OnePlus has recognized its mistake and hopes to rectify it with Android 13, but it just goes to show the company isn’t the cult darling it once was.

Samsung may give the Galaxy S27 Ultra a major eye comfort upgrade
A new leak suggests Samsung could add DC dimming to reduce OLED flicker on its next flagship phones.

Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are shaping up to look quite different from the current generation, but the changes underneath may not be nearly as dramatic. Camera processing is reportedly being tweaked for warmer, more natural-looking photos, while certification filings point to a much-needed battery bump.

A fresh leak, however, points to an upgrade that could matter a lot more to people with sensitive eyes. Tipster WalleGalaxy claims Samsung will introduce DC dimming support on the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra, potentially moving away from the PWM-only approach it has relied on for years. The current Galaxy S26 series still uses PWM at around 480Hz and offers no DC-like flicker reduction option.

Apple is making sure you can’t walk into a store without bumping into the iPhone Duo
Apple is putting the iPhone Duo on display like it’s the star of the show
Photography, Face, Head

Apple is preparing an unusually large retail push for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, with flagship stores expected to feature dozens of hands-on demo units and dedicated displays. The aim is to give customers a proper look at the foldable device before deciding whether it is worth the premium price.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning more than 150 demo units at its Fifth Avenue flagship in New York City. The Apple Park Visitor Center is expected to have nearly 100, while stores on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, the Grove in Los Angeles, and Manhattan’s Upper West Side could each receive around 30 to 40 units. Smaller stores are expected to have roughly 20 demo devices.

iPhone Duo launch could bring a personalised first-boot greeting

Apple could add a personal touch to its upcoming iPhone Duo launch, letting buyers see their names on the screen the first time they turn on their new phones. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple retail stores in the US will have a system to customise the device’s initial greeting, so it displays a message such as “Hello, Mark” instead of the usual generic welcome.
