OnePlus has just confirmed that its next flagship will land globally with a handful of upgrades that push it beyond the usual iterative changes fans might expect. “The OnePlus 15 is a 2-generation upgrade in Power, Intelligence, Design, continuing OnePlus’ tradition of leading performance,” says the company as it preps for an official launch next month. And based on teasers that the company has dropped so far, the next warrior from OnePlus will easily outshine the Galaxy S25 and the iPhone 17.
The big change
The Chinese smartphone label has already shared official renders of the phone, showcasing its new Sand Storm look. The design is inspired by the OnePlus 13s, but the build and surface finish have been reimagined from the ground up.
Specifically, OnePlus utilized a high-voltage plasma process to apply a ceramic coat on the metallic chassis of the phone. The result is a material that is over three times as sturdy as aluminum and 1.3 times as tough as titanium.
The aerospace-grade Micro-Arc Oxidation (MAO) layer covers not only the mid-frame, but also the camera island, housing a triple lens array. The glass shell, on the other hand, serves a familiar silk-inspired surface finish.
The fire-breathing innards
OnePlus 15 will be among the first wave of smartphones to come equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, featuring the in-house third-generation Oryon cores.
The phone is claimed to support an impressive 165fps gaming experience in titles such as Delta Force, Call of Duty Mobile, and League of Legends: Wild Rift, among others.
Interestingly, a detailed review of the OnePlus 15 has already been shared on YouTube. And if the test figures are to be believed, it even outshines the A19 Pro chip inside the iPhone 17 Pro on certain performance metrics.
