At the end of the year, it's become common for popular apps to offer users a way to look back at their activity from the past 12 months — such as Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music Replay. Starting today, Reddit users can take a look at their 2022 "Reddit Recap" to see stats about their time on the platform, the communities they've engaged with, and the reach their posts have had over the last year.

What You Need

  • Smartphone with the Reddit app

  • An active Reddit account

The features of each year's Reddit Recap change annually, but 2022's offers a new, in-depth look into a user's history with the app. In addition to seeing the stats and data, Reddit users can also claim free accessories for their avatar — including the Tardigrade, Narwhal, and Banana Mask — by heading over to the Avatar Builder and selecting them under the Explore tab.

How to see your Reddit Recap

Accessing your Reddit Recap is simple and can be done in-app or when using a computer browser. The steps below will be focusing on the app version of the feature, but the steps are the same regardless of where you're viewing it.

Step 1: Open the Reddit app and select the narwhal icon located in the top right corner of the Home or Discover tabs.

Step 2: Swipe down to view your stats until you reach a page that reads What's your secret Reddit ability?

Step 3: Select the card with the question mark on it and it'll flip over to reveal a personalized virtual trading card that features your avatar and other stats about your account. If you don't want to share your username or avatar, toggle the switches below the card. When you do, the card will update to your preferences.

Step 4: Scroll all the way down to the end of the slides. Once you're at the bottom, you can share your results by selecting Share your recap.

Step 5: After selecting Share your recap, select how you want to share the information whether that's directly with a text of using any of the other share options.

Reddit Recap not working or not showing? Do this

Reddit Recap is a fun journey through your Reddit year in review — but what if Recap doesn't work? Some Reddit users may notice that Reddit Recap is not working or not showing, putting a wrench in the whole experience.

If this happens to you, there are a few things you can try to fix it. If you're using Reddit on your phone, close the app and reopen it. You should also check to see if any updates are available, and if they are, download them promptly.

There could also be something funky with your internet connection. Whether you're using the Reddit mobile app or the desktop site, try 1) disconnecting from your connection and reconnecting or 2) connecting to a different Wi-Fi or mobile network.

Lastly, it could be an issue with Reddit itself. You can check the status of Reddit servers at any time and see if things are operational — or if something's busted.

The problem with Reddit Recap and Apollo

As fun as Reddit Recap is, it comes with a fairly big limitation. Only your browsing history from the Reddit desktop site or official mobile app is recorded and saved for Reddit Recap. If you browse Reddit from a third-party client — such as the popular Apollo app for iOS — your browsing there is not saved for Reddit Recap.

Say you use Apollo for checking Reddit on your phone, but use the desktop site when you're on your laptop. Browsing from your laptop is saved for Reddit Recap, but your time on Apollo isn't. Folks who use the first-party Reddit app don't need to worry about this, but if you're a frequent Apollo user — or have another third-party Reddit client you love — be sure to keep this in mind.

The Pixel 11 Pro made me fall in love with Night Sight once again
Google Pixel 11 Pro Night Sight Featured

Night Sight used to be one of those Pixel features I couldn't wait to show people. Point a Pixel at a scene that you know would make any smartphone struggle, and watch the algorithm magic unfold. Google's computational photography could pull out an image that seemed impossible for any phone camera at the time.

Eight years later, night modes are everywhere, and I've largely stopped thinking about them. Every flagship I've used recently can brighten a dark room by stacking multiple exposures and producing a usable nighttime photograph--not to forget longer shutter speeds. But the Pixel 11 Pro made this unassuming feature even more convenient than before.

I underestimated the Pixel 11, and now I’m eating my words
Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

It’s only been a week since Google launched the Pixel 11 series globally, and I’ve already been putting the Pixel 11 through its paces. This is the vanilla model of the bunch, and on the surface, Google hasn’t changed the design or tried to reinvent what already worked last year. And you know what? I’m completely fine with that.

I’ve always been a firm believer in “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” and the Pixel 11 feels like Google took that saying pretty seriously. A lot of what made the Pixel 10 work is still here, just with a few tweaks sprinkled in. That might not sound particularly exciting, but after actually living with the phone for the past few days, I’ve found myself enjoying it more than I expected. So, rather than writing it off for looking a little too familiar, I gave this baby a proper chance. And while I’m still putting it through plenty of tests, there are already a few things about the Pixel 11 that I’ve really started to like.

Pixel 11 just got more expensive, but Google may have found a way to stop the bleeding
Google's big manufacturing shake-up could help Pixel 12 from getting even pricier
Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

Google just pushed the prices higher for the entire Pixel 11 lineup. The hikes weren't surprising at all, especially considering the rising component costs and the ongoing RAMmageddon. But a new report hints that we might soon see a solution to all of this.

According to Nikkei Asia, Google plans to stop producing all Pixel devices in China starting in 2027, shifting manufacturing toward India and Vietnam. The reported move covers Pixel phones, watches, and wireless earbuds as Google continues reducing its reliance on Chinese manufacturing. As always, there's no guarantee Google will pass any resulting savings along to buyers. Though reducing its exposure to China at a time of volatile trade policy and spiralling component costs could give the company more flexibility when it comes time to price future Pixels.
