Samsung’s new iPhone-friendly file sharing feature may be arriving on more Galaxy devices very soon. The company recently brought AirDrop support to its latest Galaxy S26 flagships, which later got expanded to the latest Galaxy A lineup.

Now, it appears that Samsung will bring the updated Quick Share experience to older flagship devices, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

What’s coming with the new update?

According to a tipster on X (formerly Twitter), the upcoming OneUI 8.5 beta for the previous-gen flagships will bring the new “Share with Apple devices” option. He further claimed that the feature is already working in Samsung’s internal ZZD1 test build.

This feature first showed up as a part of Samsung’s Quick Share update for the Galaxy S26 lineup, rolling out across the globe. Support for additional devices was set to be revealed later on. So while Samsung has not officially confirmed the older-device list yet, the latest leak does seem plausible. The update is meant to cut down the usual friction of sending photos and files to friends using iPhones, iPads, or Macs.

There is still a catch

On paper, this sounds like great news for Samsung users. But the bigger issue is that the rollout does not seem fully settled. Some users are still complaining of not seeing the Share with Apple devices option, while others report that the feature is simply not working consistently. The rollout is region-based, which could explain why the availability looks patchy for now.

If you've ever been on vacation and chose to record video instead of taking photos only to avoid missing the fun moments, thinking you’d pause and take screenshots later, you might have ended up questioning your decision later.

You see, the process involves multiple steps, starting from hunting for the right frame, pausing, and taking a screenshot. If it doesn’t look good, you go back to the video, pause somewhere else, and try taking another screenshot. You see where I’m going with this?
