What’s happened? Alongside the November 2025 Pixel Drop, Google has rolled out a major update for Google Photos on iOS, bringing a redesigned editor and conversational editing support to iPhones.

  • The redesigned editor, which rolled out on Android earlier this year, offers helpful suggestions for quick, one-tap edits and provides easier access to editing tools.
  • Google Photos on iOS is also getting the “Help me edit” feature that debuted with the Pixel 10 series, which allows users to make changes by simply describing them.

Why is this important? With these upgrades now available in Google Photos for iOS, iPhone users can finally experience the advanced AI-powered editing features Pixel and Android users have enjoyed for some time.

  • The redesigned editor makes image editing faster and more intuitive through simple gestures and one-tap suggestions, while still offering quick access to all of Google Photos’ powerful editing tools.
  • The “Help me edit” feature unlocks a conversational editing experience that lets users request edits using natural language prompts.

Why should I care? The Google Photos update brings Pixel-level AI image editing features to your iPhone, letting you make powerful edits with simple gestures, smart suggestions, and natural language prompts.

  • Editing photos on your iPhone is now as easy as describing what you want with prompts like “brighten the background” or “remove reflections.”
  • And if you’re new to Google Photos’ editing tools, the one-tap suggestions make it easier than ever to apply complex edits with minimal effort.

What’s next? In its announcement post, Google said the redesigned editor and conversational editing support are starting to roll out to iOS devices in the US. While the company hasn’t shared details about a wider release, these features will likely reach iPhone users in more regions over the coming months.

During its Q2 2026 earnings call, Samsung said demand is still running far ahead of supply and that orders it cannot fulfil this year are likely to spill into the next. The company now expects the shortage to persist through 2028, extending its earlier warning by another year.
