The line for the Samsung press conference today wrapped around corners well before the doors opened. The Korean company’s new and improved camera lineup may not have been the most buzzed about Samsung release, but there are worthwhile innovations here nonetheless. The company focused on portability in the ST series and SMART WiFi technology, serious zoom, and fun features in the travel zoom category.

These new models offer a stylish brushed metal exterior and fun new features packed inside for eager consumers. Both cameras feature image stabilization, an F/2.5, 25mm wide angle lens, 5x optical zoom, and HD video recording in 720p.

New features inside also include a cheesy but fun Magic Frame mode, the ability to use Picture in Picture (almost like Facebook’s cover and profile photos) to create two-photo collages, and a Funny Face feature to induce groans and laughs alike.

The ST66 and ST77 are perfect for on-the-go snapping and will fit in almost any pocket, but when it comes to venues like travel photography, Samsung had something a little more interesting up its sleeve. With the introduction of the WB850F, WB150F (above), and ST200F, Samsung brings WiFi technology to a long zoom series for compact portability, convenient sharing, and serious zoom. Samsung’s new SMART WiFi technology allows users to easily email photos, upload them to social networking sites or Picasa, or post videos on Youtube from any WiFi hotspot. These three cameras offer 21x, 18x, and 10x optical zoom and each capture detail with  12+ megapixels.

The travel zoom category cameras also feature HD video recording (1080p on the WB850F), image stabilization, full manual control, a Smart Auto 2.0 setting, and fun extras like Motion Photo, Live Panorama, Magic Frame, and Picture-in-Picture.

For another compact offering, Samsung introduced the DV300F dual-view camera that features a 1.5-inch front-facing LCD screen for self-portraits; this new camera also integrates the company’s new SMART WiFi technology for the ultimate in connectivity.
