Digital Trends Announces Cooking Show Open For Good

PORTLAND, Ore., May 19, 2020 — Digital Trends, the premiere Millennial-focused tech publisher, is pivoting their operations during the COVID-19 pandemic to help support the flagging restaurant industry. They’ve dedicated a portion of Digital Trends Live airtime to a new cooking show Open For Good.

Open For Good is a way to give back to restaurants,” says Digital Trends CRO, Bob Gruters. “We want to be a part of the re-imagining of how people are using technology to stay connected.”

In partnership with leading influencer agency Influential, Gruters has assembled a roster of celebrity chefs to make appearances. First in line is culinary architect Daniella “Chef Danie” Abraham, who has drawn from her Haitian and Dominican South Florida background to deliver five star cuisine to clients that include Kylie Jenner, Drake, Oprah, Antonio Banderas, Diddy, and Pharrell, as well as numerous pro athletes.

But Open For Good isn’t just for the entertainment elite. Keeping step with Digital Trends’ award-winning, ongoing coverage of Tech For Change, which spotlights tech pioneers working for social and environmental solutions, Open For Good will spotlight charities like World Central Kitchen, which is working with more than 1,200 restaurants nationwide to purchase and deliver meals to vulnerable families and communities impacted by COVID-19.

“We’re excited about what World Central Kitchen is doing because they’re supporting local businesses while supporting local families, and helping offset the strain on services like food banks and school meal programs,” says Gruters.

As the launch partner of Digital Trends’ Open For Good series, Ninja will be donating 1,000 pressure cookers to benefit the restaurant workers impacted by COVID-19. The first episode airs on Thursday, May 21st at 2:00PM Pacific, at www.digitaltrends.com/live.
