Digital Trends Continues Expansion With First Ever Chief Brand Officer
PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 21, 2020 — Digital Trends, the premiere Millennial-focused tech publisher, has continued their expansion by hiring the Chief Brand Officer in the company’s history. Kelly Dachtler, the new CBO, is a brand and design executive and consultant who has served global companies including Target, Adidas, Liz Claiborne, Juicy Couture and Wolverine World Wide.
“Kelly has such a fantastic and thorough understanding of how brands work, from the graphic design level all the way to communications and customer engagement,” says Digital Trends CEO Ian Bell. “He’s been working independently with some major label brands for a long time, which adds to his already impressive resume. His hire represents the kind of professionals we’re going after to the Digital Trends brand to the next level.”
Dachtler will join the Digital Trends main offices in downtown Portland, Oregon. Digital Trends has grown to become the biggest independent tech publisher in the nation, but previously have never had an officially designated C-Suite title for brand management.
This follows closely on the heels of an expansion of Digital Trends’ editorial department. They also saw a sweep of C-level hires in 2018, and have in the past couple years grown to reach 30 million unique monthly readers to become the world’s largest independent tech publisher. The opening of the new CBO position represents a major step in developing the company’s brand and future, paving the way for more hires and deeper expansion still to come.
