PORTLAND, Ore., Mar. 30, 2020 — Digital Trends, the premiere Millennial-focused tech publisher, continues expansion by appointing their first Head of People, Diana Semler, to run the human resources department at Digital Trends’ downtown Portland headquarters.
Despite the need for social distancing and self-quarantine during the global COVID19 pandemic, Digital Trends continues to operate as a remote workforce, and grow as a company.
“This is definitely one of the oddest times to be onboarding new employees,” says Ian Bell, CEO of Digital Trends. “But since we are a ‘digital first’ company, we’re fortunate that our growth doesn’t need to stop during the pandemic.” Bell encouraged employees to look Semler up on Slack and introduce themselves as she begins to define her new role.
Semler brings more than 15 years of industry experience working with large companies and will be working closely with Bell on several initiatives to help elevate Digital Trends during its current phase of growth. Among these initiatives are Diversity and Inclusion, Career Pathing, employee training, pay equity, and ultimately helping the whole staff develop personal growth paths appropriate to their individual and family needs as they further their careers at Digital Trends.
