With the deal, LinkedIn will grow its portfolio of services, incorporating B2B reviews for more than 70 categories in the United States. The acquisition gives LinkedIn a richer set of features for users and provides more hooks to interacting with the site. LinkedIn is trying to position itself as a destination rather than just a service users visit occasionally when they need to network with professionals.

ChoiceVendor, was founded in 2008 by two former Google employees and was similar to Yelp for B2B transactions. Reviews could be posted about employees, one could provide customer reviews about accountants, call centers, payroll services and other vendors.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed in a LinkedIn statement today.

This is the second acquisition LinkedIn has made, acquiring mSpoke, a recommendation technology company, in August.
