Salesforce picks up enterprise chat startup Activa Live

Activa Live develops a cloud-based live chat system that can be used for service and customer support. The acquisition will build upon Salesforce’s support infrastructure. Activa Chat Live is currently available as a SaaS offering with a plugin for Salesforce.com available in the Salesforce App Exchange.

Activa Live has some interesting technology built in which actually reveals what is being typed by a customer before being sent to the support agent. This helps agents anticipate what will be asked and respond in a timely manner. They also provide analytics, transcripts, visitor monitoring and co-browsing.

Active Live clients include American Apparel, Proctor&Gamble and Turner Broadcast.
