We got a chance to test out RIM’s new Z10, and were pleased to discover that BlackBerry 10 is a complete overhaul of the Blackberry OS. Blackberry knew that in order to keep from being snuffed out by Apple, Android, and Windows phones, they needed to bring something new to the table.
Although we only had a few minutes to play with the Z10, it’s pretty clear that BlackBerry put a lot of R&D into the new OS. Thanks to simple gesture-based controls and the new Hub feature, navigating between apps and menus is extremely intuitive. Pair this ease of use with a host of business-oriented functions, and Blackberry just might have a winner on their hands.
The Z10 goes on sale in the UK tomorrow, January 31, followed by February releases in Canada, China, and the United Arab Emirates. Unfortunately those of us hoping to buy one in the U.S. will have to wait until March.
